We had a problem with the dishwasher and American Home Shield initially had us with Lowe's and for whatever reason, Lowe's couldn't do it for weeks. So, I did contact American Home Shield and had them release us from Lowe's, so we could get another vendor. They did. Getting claims going with American Home Shield has been fairly easy. I've used them three times and I've just called in. Everything has been resolved so far. We have an open claim currently that I made the other day and the company they assigned made contact with me saying they're gonna come out tomorrow.
We got a package from after we closed escrow and from a Realtor and American Home Shield's information was on there. So we just called over the phone. The contractor came out to do a rekeying. They were good. They rekeyed our keys and then all the locks are the same. So we have one key to open up most of the doors and it’s a lot more convenient.
I like submitting claims with Home Shield online. It's better than speaking with customer service. When the tech came, he found that the valve was not working properly. It was jamming and not working, and then he changed the valve.
Realty Rekey came out and rekeyed the home that I just purchased. The guy was pleasant to work with and the website was pretty easy to navigate.
On Saturday, I sent my link to say I'll accept the e-card to go get a refrigerator from Home Depot. It hasn't come yet and today's the expiration so I hope there's no problem. But the customer service of the visit was fine. They'd been out before. It was great then and it was great this time. The guy came out and assessed the issue. We had an overflowed tank on the water heater and it was leaking. After I called in the claim, it took a couple of days when the contractor came out. They did a good job. They were neat. They didn't leave a mess. They did it within the time frame they had promised and they had their mask. It was my first time utilizing AHS and I was pleased with the way they took it out. They saved me some money.
The jetted tub wouldn't come on so I called AHS and the first company that they assigned never showed up and never called. The claim went through for weeks. But APC was on it the next day after I called in to complain. They were out the next day and fixed it. We were able to continue using the tub. Overall, I've had a very good experience with AHS. There was a glitch there with that plumbing company that never showed up to fix the tub but that was the only issue I've ever had with them.
We didn't know about the stove soffit so the guy from Allcity Appliance & HVAC Service that came out explained to us why we had seen that smoke and we understood. Great service and good customer service with American Home Shield.
