Our air conditioner would turn on but it wasn't getting cool. The contractor came out within a week. It was when it was really hot so we understood. The claims process with American Home Shield is pretty simple. I just placed a claim for my dryer on Monday. But the vendor wasn't good so I wanted to switch the company that was gonna come out. When I called the actual customer service, the hold time is very long. But there is a callback option.
Everything was good with CT's Appliance. The only thing, it took a long time before the repair got completed. But it’s not his fault. I called another repairman before I contacted AHS to find out about replacement parts for this particular appliance that I have. It was an LG refrigerator and they said they would not work on LG products because it takes too long to get replacement parts. They lose customers that way. The CT repairman told me the same thing. The refrigerator was making some loud noises and the gentleman from Lafayette Refrigeration came out. He looked at it and he needed to order some parts. He ordered them, came back and fixed what that thing in the back of the refrigerator was doing as well as the ice machine. Then, there was a follow-up because the door handles came off. My dishes weren’t drying and the inside was getting kind of black and maybe mildewy. It seemed dirty. The most annoying thing was that my dishes would never dry, especially on the top rack. I filed a claim to American Home Shield and the contractor came out. Ronnie, the technician from Quality Appliance, was awesome. He kept me informed along the way and he was very polite and professional. He determined that the heating element, that coil in the bottom of your dishwasher, was out for whatever reason. A-US Air Conditioning of Texas fixed our AC. It was super easy to submit the claim with American Home Shield. I tried to call in but I was on hold for a very long time. So I did it online. It is very simple and it is easy to navigate through the online system. They got back to me really quickly. They told me that the air condition people would call me within 24 hours and I got a phone call from A-US Air Conditioning 15 minutes later.The first technician who came out was on time. The reps from Texas Pool Guy came out and they were very professional. They knew what the problem was right off the bat and I understood what they told me. The issue was some kind of a little thing on top of the motor and they replaced that. I've been pleased with American Home Shield so far. I've always had great service with them. I had a problem with them one time when lightning struck my home and they said that it wasn't covered. But with everything else, I've had great help out of them.
I had some GFI plugs that weren't working. I was watching it because they would make popping noises periodically. I actually called American Home Shield in regards to a freestanding freezer and the lady said that it was not covered in my policy. Then I told her about my GFI plugs and she made the appointment for All Safe Electric to come out. The gentleman who came out said that they weren't good so he just replaced them. American Home Shield has been great. It's been working. We had an opportunity to utilize it a couple of times with the AC and the recent claim went fine. The guy came back and adjusted something, and we're good.
We wanted our hot water heater to get looked at to make sure everything was running right with it. My wife called American Home Shield and we were told to expect the contractor the next day. After Efficient Air Systems came out to look at the water heater, they wanted someone to look at our furnace as well. There was a pipe that runs into the tray and they didn't think that was correct.
