The guy from Ace's Garage was outstanding. The little remote control to my garage door had to be HotSynced and he was very professional and helpful. It was a simple repair, but he did it very quickly and explained what he was doing, so he did a really good job. The issue I have with American Home Shield is trying to get follow-up. I make appointments and it's all done electronically through voice activation.The voice would ask about what I need and I tell them. Submitting a claim with AHS was very easy. They sent out Myers Comfort Specialist to help me out and they resolved the issue.
I signed up with AHS due to my daughter and son in laws suggestion. Two months later, my refer stopped cooling and ice maker went kaput. AHS sent out a repair man, he had to order parts and came back the next week to make repair. It now works better than ever and I really couldn't be happier.
The AC wasn't cooling and my place was at 82 degrees in the middle of the night. I went on the computer and filled out a service request with AHS. I was on the site at around 2 a.m. and by the time I got up in the morning on Saturday, they had sent me an email but they gave me a long window that somebody has been assigned. I didn't think I needed a Home Warranty because I bought a brand new home, little did I know...new also comes with problems. 2.5 years after I bought my home, things started breaking, and I was spending money left and right to get things fixed and replaced. I was also getting nickel-and-dimed for individual warranty plans for items like my fridge or washer and dryer, my AC unit, and none of those warranty plans really covered all the necessary repairs. It was a very good service with Stockdale Service Company. The young man came out here to check out the air conditioner after I've gotten a quote from another company to replace the whole outside unit. He said I didn't need to replace the whole unit. I just needed a new fan. He opened it up, took the fan out, took the motor out, put a new motor in, put the fan on it, and it's worked fine since. I’m very pleased with my experience. It was a very good one with very little difficulty.
We were in California before and we had American Home Shield there for two years. We had them in Colorado for a couple of years too. We moved here to Potomac in February and we also have the warranty. Aside from AHS, we used another company also and I was very dissatisfied with them. I found AHS to be more prompt in managing things. They were prompt in getting someone out there when the chain on our garage door wouldn't work. I switched from the home warranty companies I was with for 15 years to American Home Shield. That was about a year ago. Their website is fine in terms of getting on once you get on. But there seems to be a really long delay when you press your account or you request service. I've tried it from work, my desktop, and my phone. The other thing is there's a PDF or there's something over there on the right to see your actual warranty and what’s covered.
