I had electrical and plumbing problems so I called Home Shield and the girl I talked to said I had to pay for the service then. She took my card number for both of those things. I should have already paid for this but I got an email saying that I owed money. I tried calling Home Shield two times and on both times, the wait time was an hour. But the contractors that came out were fine and what got worked on is working good. The plumbing issue was with the garbage disposal and they replaced that.
Our faucet and our disposal was not working. I called Home Shield and they gave me TJ Plumbing Supplies. They weren't that quick and I had to call. They had to order a part. It took two weeks. It was a long waiting period. But I liked the tech who came out. He was a young kid. He was good. Our disposal is making a loud noise now when you use it but nothing's leaking like it was before. So, I'm assuming that it's working. Other than the waiting period, Home Shield's claims process was okay. I had Home Shield for many years an... read more
It was quick and easy to put in an order for someone to come look at my refrigerator. I just filled out the info online and made my payment. AHS communicated with me promptly and set up an appointment with someone local who also communicated with me promptly. The person who came to work on my fridge was professional and trustworthy, and was also mindful of COVID protocols. This was my first experience using AHS to solve an appliance issue, and it was an easy and positive experience.
My recent claim with AHS was for my washing machine. It was easy to submit the claim. I didn't have any problems with that. Sears came out the very next day. So, I was happy with that part of it. The part I had a problem with was that initially, it was going to be fixed, but then the parts were on backorder. I was supposed to get a brand new machine instead of having it fixed. It took two months for me to get it resolved. I spent countless hours and days on hold trying to get it straightened out. I was not very happy. There ... read more
Addison came out and he was spectacular. He knew what he was doing. He told us what we needed and fixed everything on the spot. He wore the shoe covering and his mask. He asked if it was necessary for him to wear gloves but I told him, no. There was a short circuit breaker that he said that was probably at least 10 years old that needed to be replaced. It would fail in the next couple of years. So he replaced that for us and fixed a couple of the sockets that were not wired up correctly. It was all good. The first time that ... read more
American Home Shield is convenient, affordable, and they do a good job. They are friendly and their contractors come out and fix issues. Patel's Plumbing was sent out when we had a claim for a leak. They came out at first and they did what they were supposed to do. But it was still leaking. They came out again and fixed the leak. This time, there was a leak from the tub. The problem was it wasn't from the plumbing so they didn't do the work. I needed some grout around the tub.
I've had American Home Shield in a previous house that's why I requested it again for this new home. Recently, our thermostat stopped working. My boyfriend went up there and found that the condensation was building up so it probably shorted out the board ‘cause it got wet. But it looked like it had not been flushed in a while and it needed to be flushed. I'm glad we had the guy from Comfort Pro ‘cause he flushed everything through. There was also a filter up there that they hadn't changed since 2015 but we found out from the ... read more
I work from home and one day, I'd gone outside and I came back in, it was about the same temperature inside as it was outside. Then I got an alert on my phone because I have these electronic thermostats and it said that my air conditioner had been off for four hours. I went and checked and did everything I needed to do to see if there was anything I could fix. At the time, I couldn't get it to come back on. I called AHS and set up an appointment. All these thermostats have these little remote sensors and one of the batteries... read more
American Home Shield sent somebody right out when there was a leak from the toilet that was coming from upstairs and soaking into the drywall in the bathroom downstairs. It was great for getting that taken care of but they could improve with following up. I'm still trying to deal with getting the hole that the guy cut in order to find the leak repaired.
