It was a very good service with Stockdale Service Company. The young man came out here to check out the air conditioner after I've gotten a quote from another company to replace the whole outside unit. He said I didn't need to replace the whole unit. I just needed a new fan. He opened it up, took the fan out, took the motor out, put a new motor in, put the fan on it, and it's worked fine since. I’m very pleased with my experience. It was a very good one with very little difficulty.
We were in California before and we had American Home Shield there for two years. We had them in Colorado for a couple of years too. We moved here to Potomac in February and we also have the warranty. Aside from AHS, we used another company also and I was very dissatisfied with them. I found AHS to be more prompt in managing things. They were prompt in getting someone out there when the chain on our garage door wouldn't work. I switched from the home warranty companies I was with for 15 years to American Home Shield. That was about a year ago. Their website is fine in terms of getting on once you get on. But there seems to be a really long delay when you press your account or you request service. I've tried it from work, my desktop, and my phone. The other thing is there's a PDF or there's something over there on the right to see your actual warranty and what’s covered. Our recent claim with AHS regarding our plumbing issue went great. The contractors showed up on time, they fixed the problem and we haven’t had an issue since. They also wore masks. American Home Shield is easy to use. The contractors that are on there come out when they say they will, so it's been great.
We've just been very satisfied with American Home Shield's service whenever we have problems. As a matter of fact, we have no issues doing a claim online and getting someone to come out as soon as possible. We usually do claims online and that's easy. My husband put one in and Beverly Garage Doors came out.
The thermostat wasn't turning on. A guy from Service Pro Heating and Air came and cleaned out the drain which fixed the issue. He was great, really friendly and very professional. The claim submission process with American Home Shield is very easy and my experience was pretty good.
I was with a competitor and they stopped. They have a call center in Guatemala. They didn't speak English, they didn’t get back with me, and had a horrible customer relations. I couldn't take it anymore. My husband had used Home Shield. I own property out of state. I needed somebody to be able to maintain it and Home Shield's warranty program is good because it covers all that stuff. The tenants said A & H Services fixed the recent issue. I had a clog down in my sink that needed to be unclogged. A claim was submitted to AHS then Rains Plumbing came out. The tech fixed it within 40 minutes and it was really quick. Since then, everything's been great. All in all, AHS is there to help you out. For the little fixes, they can come out and it would not cost an arm and a leg.
The problem with the air was the outside unit was starting but the inside wasn’t so it wasn’t getting cold. I had a little bit of trouble at first with American Shield but it wasn't directly with American Shield. It was with the contractors but American Shield tried to find another people. They found other people to do it ASAP and they came the next day. They did a really good job. They fixed it really quick.
