My mother has been with Home Shield for years, but she canceled hers. And when I moved down to move in with her because my father passed away, I just put it in my name because I was paying the bill. So, she has been Home Shield for the longest, but then I just took over. Recently, Mike's Clean Air came out for our AC and it was awesome. It was a compressor that went out. Our AC working now works fine.
The condenser of the AC wouldn't come on so the fan would just blow warm air. I submitted online my request and then within a half hour, I got the name of the repair company, and then I could contact them directly or they could call me and we schedule a time for them to come out. Comfort Connection came out and repaired the AC. They replaced a part and it worked for about five days. Then I called again and they came out and determined it was the compressor that was bad. Certified Tech was sent by American Home Shield for an AC issue. The gentleman that came had fixed the issue. The only thing is I wish somebody can come on weekends. When I called them, the response was he would love to come but he doesn't get paid his weekend hours. But he came on a Monday morning at 9 o'clock. I had a ceiling fan in the bedroom that had come detached from the ceiling and it was gonna fall. The contractor came in and they identified the problem real quick. They told me what American Home Shield would cover and what they didn't cover, and they fixed it. They put a new box up there and reattached the fan. We were through in less than an hour. We never know if things in our house are repairable or if we should start planning to replace them or not. It is nice to feel that we've got it budgeted in to have things looked at if they start acting out. Home Shield gives us a little more confidence about reaching out to get help to get things looked at. It makes it manageable. It was very easy to submit a claim with American Home Shield. I called in, I talked to someone and they gave me the reference number. Then, I called the company. I called AHS back and they said they had just submitted it to the vendor, and gave me the vendor's name and the telephone number. They said that I would get a text. I got a text. I went online and submitted the claim, and then Home Shield called me within an hour or so. The contractor was in and out in 30 minutes. It took him longer to drive here than it did to actually fix the AC. Apparently, I was also low on Freon. It's now significantly cooler in here than it was prior to the AC breaking. Everything went smoothly for the most part.
My wife goes onto American Home Shield and puts claims in and then someone gets back to us. Air Link has been out here about six times over five years and they're very good. They come and the issues are always fixed and they don't have to come back.
There was a stoppage in my kitchen and I know American Home Shield covers that. I told them the issue and their rep was perfect. I was to expect a contractor within a few days. Pennington Plumbing Services was my designated contractor and they were timely. Sometimes, people tell you they'll be there and you have to wait a little bit.
