When I submitted a claim to American Home Shield, I did it online and it was easier. Some people came to check on my refrigerator and it’s working fine now. The technicians were good. I tried another warranty company and they didn't cover anything. AHS has been good to me so I love them.
We've had a couple of claims with Home Shield and generally speaking, the've been very good. There was a claim though that was confusing and we're still waiting on that. In some cases, their contractor isn't really available when they've identified them which is a problem. We have a specific kind of appliance, a microwave convection oven that is made by Bosch. For the washing machine, the contractor found there was something stuck in the filter. It wouldn't drain properly. It kept giving us an error and stopping the cycle. He got it out and cleaned it. He wasn't there very long. Now, it's fine. However, he came out after week and a half which is longer than I wanted it to be. When your washing machine is not working, you want them to come out quickly.
Drywall Masters closed the wall in the dining room, but they couldn't do the work in the garage because the ceiling was wet. The restoration company would take care of that. Drywall Masters was very good. The guy who came to finish was very professional. Overall,everything is okay with American Home Shield.
I had the house rekeyed. It was really quick. I had to reach out to the contractor though. He said he had overlooked the email. Once I spoke with him, he set a date. He communicated with me as far as the time when he was gonna be there. He came out and did his job. I was satisfied.
We just moved into this house and there were a number of keys that were all different and we didn't have most of them. We booked the rekey service through American Home Shield and got a text from a guy. He came when he said he was going to and rekeyed all the doors and changed one of the locks. It was super easy.
The contractor replaced a part in the AC unit and they repaired it. Everything's good to go. But American Home Shield's website was a little awkward for me to figure out how to get it to take my claim. Once I got it to take the actual claim, everything seemed to work fine. The only problem was they gave me to a company that couldn't fix it for about 10 days. So I called American Home Shield and they reassigned it to somebody that could come the same day.
I called a few weeks ago because there was water dripping from the top shelf of my refrigerator. The first person came out pretty quickly and defrosted the ice. I thought it was good but then it started happening again. So I called to have somebody come back out and fix it. It took about two weeks for someone to come out. But the tech was good. When submitting claims with AHS, I log on to the website and it gives a step-by-step of whatever will happen. Once in a while, when I'm trying to find an issue, it's a little bit hard to navigate through. It was hard to find how to get to submitting a claim for the sewage smell. I had to get to stoppage and found a drop down to see "smell".
