I have had the warranty for about 10 years now and it has been a nice experience. When I call to request a service repair, within a few days they have someone out to check it.
The upstairs AC was no longer cooling. The contractors that came for it were really good. They always came out when they say they would. Everything went fine. They also kept me updated, so I was very pleased. I've never had a problem with AHS. It's all worked out very well. They do what they say they're gonna do. They've got everything well organized. They got different levels of service that we purchase and we get what we pay for.
I had friends that had AHS and they were very happy with it. I got AHS because things break and they're very expensive. It pays in the long run to have a warranty. I put in a request online recently with AHS and the website is good. They sent me an email with a date and time and asked me if that was okay. So it went fine. A guy came out and looked at it. American Home Shield is responsive but there are some follow-up things that I struggle with. I've been with them for years and I can see where there has been cutting cost on some things or rules have changed. But the garbage disposal was disappointing. The plumber said it was jammed hard and I don't know if he submitted what he needed to submit to American Home Shield 'cause I didn't really get any clear resolution. My freezer wasn't thawing right. Submitting a claim for its repair was quite easy online with American Home Shield. I set up the service call through my account with them and the process was very efficient. The tech they sent came in and knew exactly what the problem was. He was at our place for an hour and explained the problem to me. We've used Home Shield two or three times over four different homes and they have been great. We're very satisfied but the only problem was to get ahold of them. It took me forever to get ahold of somebody to talk to and put the claim in. But after that, everything was fine. When somebody starts to call for a claim, you push the button if you wanna file a claim and it takes forever for somebody to answer the phone. Sometimes it would take 40 minutes. Our water heater was busted and we had to replace it. The website was pretty simple. Once I ordered the service, I got an email with the contractors and called them immediately. I had a busted water system and I didn't wanna wait on anybody to call. It took a few days for Siris Plumbing to get out here but the service was good. They replaced the whole water heater. Everything has been perfect since and it has helped by providing hot water. It was easy to claim and get it fixed with American Home Shield.
The air conditioner fan wouldn't shut off. The contractor did a good job. They wore masks and we didn't shake hands. The service with AHS worked real well so far. The warranty has been very beneficial. Submitting the claim was easy, except for this last time because their website was having problems. So I had to call which took a little longer because I had to wait forever for a representative. But once I got them on the phone, it was great.
My most recent claim was a repair on our water heater. I did it online and the person assigned to it called me within 30 minutes. He was pretty good. We've been having problems with the water heater where the pilot light was going out quite often and hefinally replaced the whole ignition panel. The guy had me take a few pictures the night before and send it to him. He had the part with him and it was ready to go. He had it done within a few hours.
