Our realtor selected American Home Shield for us when we bought our first house and it has given us great peace of mind! We didn't even make it a full month before we used one of their services and believe it will be of tremendous value to us throughout the first year of home ownerhsip.
AHS provided service to check out our double wall ovens. When I was not pleased with the report AHS allowed me to have a second company check the ovens. I was grateful because the second tech. did not find anything wrong with the oven and told us why we had a slight problem when trying to turn off the oven at one time. I did find the wait times to speak to an agent on the phone somewhat annoying. They did allow you to have AHS return the call which was helpful.
We bought the American Home Shield warranty when we were selling our old house, and I had a good experience with them during that time in the process of selling the house. I thought I just wanted some extra protection. Everything so far, so good. I haven't had any bad experiences yet at all. The gentleman that came for our plumbing issue recently was very nice. My AC has been working fine since the contractor came. He was covered with a mask when he was here. The only thing is I didn't get any those of what he replaced. He didn't describe exactly what he did to the unit. He put two pounds of Freon in my tank and now I'm concerned I'll probably have a leaking because that's a lot. Other than that, the repair was quick. American Home Shield's service is great. I went to the website and I requested the service from there. It was very easy.
The individual from CMR was very nice. It wasn't cool in the house but we just had new windows put in. I don't have window treatments and it's a bow window. He immediately knew that the window was probably what was causing the issue. It was retaining too much heat in the house without the window treatments. So, either tint my windows or put blinds up and my unit will continue to work as efficiently as it's supposed to. So I was very happy about that. My air stopped working all together. Home Shield sent out Cecil and Sons and the air conditioning has been working just fine since they came out. They did a great job.
All American Plumbing & Rooter was excellent. They replaced our faucets because there was no water pressure. For those situations, a week or two weeks would been fine but they responded really quickly. The first time they came out, they fixed three of the four faucets. They said they had to replace one and it took probably two or three weeks before they got the part. Then they came out once they got the part. It was very timely considering what the issue was. I appreciated the gentleman who came out from MaeDae Electric. He fixed the problem quickly and he was accommodating. He had a mask on and asked me if the rooms were clear. He also made sure we kept the proper distance. Everything went well. All in all, it was a good experience. We'll plan to sign up again with American Home Shield when the current contract expires.
The washing machine overflowed so I had Service Plus come out and check. Some kind of tube thing that turns it from small load to large load came off of that so it overflowed. So the tech hooked up the tube right back behind the washing machine. AHS has been pretty good since 2012. The only problem that I had with them was when my refrigerator was broken, it took three times for them to fix it.
