Submitting claims to American Hoe Shield has been pretty easy. The capacitor of my AC went out in the middle of summer and I submitted a claim. When I called their contractor Walker Air Conditioning I found that they didn't know that they should call me within 24 hours. That had me a little concerned. Immediately though, Walker Air Conditioning called me and got somebody out to my location. AHS reacted pretty quickly but that was because I called Walker immediately. The garage door was broken. It wouldn't go up and down. I called American Home Shield and they sent Flash Garage out. They came out the next day. They were very professional and great. I was very pleased with their service. I've worked with American Home Shield for a while now and they've always done a great job. I like that they are very responsive, efficient, and timely. They handle the problems effectively.
The compressor went out on the AC unit in the middle of the night. When we called American Home Shield, they said it was gonna take two days for the contractor to get out here. It's 100 and something degrees in Florida. Beaches Air Conditioning and Heating got here and it took them 15 minutes to do the job and they were gone. They did fine. That was a $1,000 fix. We had to have somebody come out and work on the air conditioner. We made a phone call to American Home Shield's office and set it up that way. The rep I spoke to and the contractor were very good. The claim went off without a hitch, just like the contract calls for. So, we're happy with it.
There was something going on with my air conditioner where it froze up the motor, and I couldn't get it unfrozen. They were very efficient. They got me scheduled within a 72-hour period. The gentleman showed up right on time when they said he was gonna show up on time. It took an hour and a half to do the repair work and they were gone. It's been absolutely great since the repair. So far, AHS is good. We did a lot of research when we bought the home and we got a lot of comparisons. AHS seemed to be the best option. The contractors that came out for our garage door were great. He was very helpful and he explained everything. I submitted the claim online. I got a response within 24 hours, and the repair was completed within 48 hours, so it was good.
GE came out for the dryer and it was handled very quickly and very professionally. The GE man found out that the issue was something in my electrical socket. So he told me that there was nothing else for him to do. Then I had to get an electrician who came and it was just a loose wire in there. Overall, the claims process was very simple and very responsive.
I'm a second time sign-up person with American Home Shield. I had them when I first got the house in 2015, and then I resigned up. I found them to be good. When I had a sink sprayer that was clogged, the guy from JED Plumbing and Gas figured it out fast. He then fixed it, put it in and he was gone in 45 minutes at the most.
I called American Home Shield and told them what was wrong with the dishwasher. The rep was good except that when she called the repair companies, we had problems with that. Three of them didn't contact me. One did but that was just to get my address straight. But it finally got straightened out and the contractor was good. He had the part with him.
