I've had American Home Shield since it was provided when we bought our home in May of 2018, but we had other home warranty companies before as well. This home is about 19 years old and some of the systems have had issues. We've had to do some things with it and American Home Shield has been thorough and responsive. It's clear what they cover and we extended our warranty because of the value we saw beyond the first year that we had it. A fuse blew out and the guy came out and isolated the problem. It was a real quick and easy fix. He put everything back together. He also wore a face mask and kept his distance from everybody in the house. AHS has been okay. I do everything online and I like this process better.
It was difficult getting my AC claim going with Home Shield. Raven Plumbing wasn't responding and I had to call them and they wouldn’t pick up the phone. It was not easy trying to get ahold of them. Home Shield is great to work with but some vendors they use are not the greatest. I use them in Austin too and it’s sort of hit and miss which ones I get.
I use American Home Shield quite frequently. The most recent one was for the garbage disposal that wasn't running correctly. We had a huge leak underneath the sink and the whole bottom part was gone from the disposal. The one that came out was A & S Plumbing. They called me within 24 hours. The guy then came prepared with the product and he was really good. He fixed my problem and our garbage disposal works great now.
The motor for the fan of my outside AC unit went out. I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and though they're a little busy from what's been going on with the virus, they were pretty good with me. The next day, their contractor from Budget Heating, Cooling & Plumbing came and fixed my problem. I'm happy with AHS's process.
Beyer Appliance came out because the dishwasher wasn't filling with water. It just calmed no matter what setting you put it on all the way around. He found like a float. He ordered that and then the one that swishes the water around was broken. So he replaced those and it worked great. Then I used it once, went out of town, came back and by the time I have enough dishes to run another cycle, the same thing, it didn't work. But when he came out, he was like, "It's working just fine. I called American Home Shield for my oven and my dishwasher. Both North Star and American Home Shield coordinated with me. I didn't have a good experience this last time with American Home Shield but it got all resolved and I was very happy in the end. I love everything about North Star Appliance.
The sink wasn't draining and something was stuck in it. Sirius showed up and they did the job in a professional way. They cleaned it up and made it sure it was fine. Also, they gave me some instructions for when it's stuck again.
I had an issue with my dryer. The claim experience was good. I was satisfied with the work. The technician came out and assessed the situation pretty quickly. Then they had to order the replacement part, so that took a little bit. But then, they called me once the part came in. I was actually on an out-of-town vacation, but soon as I got back, I called them. They scheduled for the technician to come out. He came out and put it in in about 15 minutes and then he was done.
