American Home Shield is a little too high, but because we have an older home, it's valid. Two years ago, they had to put in a new air conditioning and they left us in the heat for quite a long time before we could get a new unit. I was contacted the day after I set up my service call. The vendor was efficienct and dependable. They arrived in a timely manner and fixed both toilets quickly.
I notified American Home Shield that my dryer was no longer heating and my dishwasher was no longer drying through a claim online, and then they said that I was set up with a contractor who would be contacting me within 24 hours. JR Appliance came and they were efficient and good at communicating. They got the job done as well. It was a great experience.
I own a bunch of properties and I spent out of my pocket so much money because I forgot I had American Home Shield. But I'm very happy. They're very attentive. It's easy to go online and book the service so that's helped me a lot. Recently, A-US Air Conditioning of Texas came out for our AC unit. I’ve had two problems and I filed a claim to American Home Shield. Our water heater was leaking. It was rusted and it went out, and they had a warranty claim come over first. Then they ended up replacing it and it was good. But as far as the air conditioner, we had left for a while and my neighbors let me know that it was not working. The refrigerator went down. It was a compressor that was messed up. Sears did very good. The only problem I had was it took a week to have somebody come out here. It was a long process. It was hard to do without a refrigerator for a week. But the two guys that came out were very nice. Overall, American Home Shield has been really good so far with us. Anytime we've had to have them, they've done very good.
Accent Air came out for the AC. It was blowing air but it wasn't getting cold. The thermostat was saying one thing but it was doing something else. The technician repaired the AC on the first day and it seemed like it was working. Then the next day, it wasn’t working anymore. But so far, it seems to be working fine now. By having the coverage with American Home Shield, you don't have to worry about all of those expenses on your home.
Having American Home Shield is convenient. I went on their website and put in a claim when our central air conditioner stopped working. That was easy. AHS had somebody here fairly quickly. The contractor was really good and they fixed everything right away that day. Their tech had a great attitude and was very professional. We have an older central air unit so he had to replace the fan motor in there. It's been working fine.
I’ve had American Home Shield for three years and the rates are reasonable and comparable to other insurances. The service is good. The selector was not working on the two shower faucets. After I sent the claim, the technicians came in about three days. He changed the faucets.
