The vent fan in the attic was bad. I filed a claim with Home Shield and Brett Short Circuits scheduled me in four days. When the tech got up here, he found out that there was a hose disconnected. He said it really wasn't his job to do but he went ahead and fixed it anyway. But one time I had a washing machine go out and Home Shield had Sears come up and look at it but Sears never sent them a report. I went on for a month with no washing machine so I finally just had to go buy one myself. Also, Home Shield is hard to get ahold... read more

The condensate line was plugged. It was spilling water or condensation on to the slab and then under in my hallway where I got the hardwood wet. Sirius Plumbing & Air Conditioning came out and I liked them. I tried to get them on another claim and AHS was not very helpful. I'm not really thrilled with AHS. If only they could handle their call center in the United States differently and to ask for availabilities to talk to someone. I was actually hung up on. The only reason I have them this year, which is my second year, is t... read more

I spoke with a rep of AHS's when I submitted a claim for a leaking pipe. Their tech from Pipe Down Services Inc. came and since then, the pipe has been alright. This was the first time that I had to use AHS and everything went really well.

The service technician was great and on time as they said. They explained what they fixed, and then tested it before they left. He said a lot of companies do not go that extra mile to test it before they leave. That is a true repairman. I am happy that I selected this warranty repair company. They were also dressed for the COVID during the entire time. Gloved and Mask. That just take a lot of stress since they are coming into your home.

Our recent claim with AHS went well. I had an issue with the toilet in my master bathroom. The contractor was very helpful in fixing the issue. He made some recommendations to figure out the line that goes outside. He was just telling me about that. He also made sure that he had his mask on before he came out the van. He had gloves on as well. The service of AHS has been fine, very responsive, quick and the turnaround time is wonderful, as well as the contractors that have come out. Their reps have been fine too. I called whe... read more

We have a rental property and when we came out to get the property ready for the next tenant, I noticed that the AC secondary drain was dripping profusely. That was an indication that something was wrong with the primary drain. I called American Home Shield. They got somebody out the following day. It was very fast. The tech from Douglas Mechanical fixed it within about an hour or two and told me what was going on and how I can even fix it myself if it happens in the future. He was fantastic. I'm kind of a do-it-yourself guy... read more

Submitting a claim was a pain because if I’ve had an email or something that has a secondary number, if I went on the American Home Shield website and used the number that was there, I'd still be on hold. It's ridiculous. The first thing I called about was just to get keys changed. I tried to submit that and I still yet to hear from somebody to come out and rekey the house. The second one was the air conditioner that went out. I understood what was going on, but they only wanted to fix the specific part that was broken and th... read more

My AC wasn’t cooling and it was leaking. I went through the appointment through the American Home Shield website. It was easy but I was able to tell them in detail only when they called me. When you do the claim, it doesn't let you explain what's going on. It only gives you a, b or c and you can’t express what the issue with the AC is. But other than that, it was quick. I got a text message from AHS letting me know the day that the appointment has been set. Then, I had to wait for a call from the contractor for them to tell ... read more

The AC upstairs wasn't cool at all. I put in a claim on Home Shield's website and I like the process. The rep let me pick between a few contractors and I chose AAction because they're close to the house. AAction was great and they're supposed to come back out because the AC downstairs is not cooling during the hottest time of the day. I had to call in to add the second unit on the claim and I had to stay on hold for an hour. That's the only thing I would change about this experience. Other than that, it's been a great experi... read more
