American Home Shield has come in more than handy in more than one occasion. It's easy to submit claims and it has been extremely beneficial when something breaks invariably. My washer went out, my dryer went out, and then there were a couple of other small things. I gotta have them come out to rekey my locks 'cause Lowe's didn't do it right. They're gonna pay me back for it and I also gotta see if I can't get someone out here to check on a leaky faucet. American Home Shield had A-US Air Conditioning come out when my AC had a... read more

My washer was broken. There's something wrong with that model machine because this is the second one of the same model that I've had. It's a terrible product. Valleywide Appliance said it was not fixable. I got an email saying that I could pick one of their products, but I really wanted to go and pick my own product from Home Depot or something. My service was pretty good. At first, I was a little annoyed because I wanted my machine fixed and the technician couldn't get it fixed. He spent a lot of time on it and I thought he ... read more

I smelled gas and Home Shield sent out a gas company. They shut the range down and said they couldn't get enough pressure into the pipe on the outside pipe. I had no hot water. They said that I had to call the plumber for that. Assurance came out and found that the gas company shut me off for no reason. The Assurance tech made sure that there were no leaks. He did a pressure test on the whole thing and he was a wonderful gentleman. He took his time and waited to make sure that everything was warming up. I couldn't ask for a ... read more

I have had American Home Shield (AHS) for a little over three years now and couldn’t imagine owning a home without AHS. I have had two major issues that AHS covered in my home. The first was our refrigerator, AHS was quick to send out a tech and after the refrigerator was deemed unsalvageable, AHS replaced our refrigerator in about a week, with a brand new refrigerator of my choice from The Home Depot, if equal value. The second major issue was with my HVAC system. Our system burned out completely and was covered by AHS. ... read more

Filing a claim with American Home Shield is pretty simple. We refer them all the time. The only issue we had is it didn't allow me to do two different issues on the same request so I had to pay two different companies to come look at two different plumbing issues instead of just one.

I had two issues with Home Shield. My initial issue with them was with the air conditioning and it was not a great experience. I didn't like the work with HVAC and then, I couldn’t get anyone on the phone from American Home Shield that I could speak to without them being in another country that wasn't noting my account properly. HVAC put it on paper that I needed one thing and then they called me and told me something different. I told them to contact Home Shield and they didn't. I ended up having to pay out of pocket and I ... read more

The outside coil of the AC was leaking oil. The contractor said they need to replace it, but they were waiting to hear back from AHS. They said it was pretty unrepairable because the issue was the actual coil out there. This is the second time that I've used AHS and the first time, the contractor came out and the AC worked for a while. AHS has been responsive and fast. It's been easy enough to get ahold of them.

I had to get rekeyed so I called Home Shield's number. I talked to their rep and it was easy. They were polite and got it done. She told me I would hear back by the next day. The tech from Arizona Sunrise Lock & Key called me the next day and we scheduled it for the following day. It was really quick. Also, he was awesome and he got all the doors done. He even fixed the door lock to make sure it worked correctly.

American Home Shield's claim process is very simple. The only problem we have is when we file a claim and there is a follow-up. It's so hard getting in contact with them to file the claim in. There needs to be another department that follows up with the customer. And they should make sure everything is completed within their allotted time frame. There should at least a be follow-up from American Home Shield and not me trying to call them. The hold time would be two hours. A technician comes out to the house whatever the case... read more
