I had the disposal fixed and the contractor who repaired it was very pleasant. American Home Shield should send out more people like those. These contractors represent their companies well and make them look good. The disposal is working fine since the repair.
We just bought a house and we made American Home Shield part of the agreement that that was gonna be part of the sale. The home warranty was chosen for us by the seller. We had two issues. One was dishwasher wasn't drying and the other is an appliance issue. Two separate people from Sears of Chicago South came and they were both nice enough people. The other guy came out twice. I was so disappointed that I've been having problems with my AC off and on. MS Services said that it had a leak and they can't really repair it anymore because it's been ongoing. Every time they add Freon, it would be gone again after a few months. I probably need a replacement. It has to be done because it's an old AC, and the last several years, I haven't called American Home Shield about this because I was taking care of it on my own and then I realized, "Wait a minute, I've been spending so much money getting it repaired... read more
I had an AC issue and we ended up speaking to a Home Shield representative because we had an issue with our AC the month before and they were gonna send the same company out. But I’d rather have a different company come out because they're gonna try and cover their tracks. Royal Flush came out and they repaired the AC. It's really easy to get service from Home Shield. They're pretty prompt.
I've had American Home Shield since it was provided when we bought our home in May of 2018, but we had other home warranty companies before as well. This home is about 19 years old and some of the systems have had issues. We've had to do some things with it and American Home Shield has been thorough and responsive. It's clear what they cover and we extended our warranty because of the value we saw beyond the first year that we had it. A fuse blew out and the guy came out and isolated the problem. It was a real quick and easy fix. He put everything back together. He also wore a face mask and kept his distance from everybody in the house. AHS has been okay. I do everything online and I like this process better.
It was difficult getting my AC claim going with Home Shield. Raven Plumbing wasn't responding and I had to call them and they wouldn’t pick up the phone. It was not easy trying to get ahold of them. Home Shield is great to work with but some vendors they use are not the greatest. I use them in Austin too and it’s sort of hit and miss which ones I get.
I use American Home Shield quite frequently. The most recent one was for the garbage disposal that wasn't running correctly. We had a huge leak underneath the sink and the whole bottom part was gone from the disposal. The one that came out was A & S Plumbing. They called me within 24 hours. The guy then came prepared with the product and he was really good. He fixed my problem and our garbage disposal works great now.
The motor for the fan of my outside AC unit went out. I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and though they're a little busy from what's been going on with the virus, they were pretty good with me. The next day, their contractor from Budget Heating, Cooling & Plumbing came and fixed my problem. I'm happy with AHS's process.
