My AC started leaking water due to an overflowing condensation pipe which was clogged. Also, it wasn't cooling the house as much as I wanted it to. I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and went through an easy process. They sent Kemph Heating and Air and the tech from there was great. He determined that my filter was causing the problem and both the clogged pipe and the filter issues got resolved. I like my AHS warranty a lot. It's a good value to have.
The blower motor seemed to fail and Total Air Care replaced it. The only thing I didn't like was the person was kinda afraid of me getting too close. He didn't show me what he did. But that was fine because I was not supposed to see that. He got a new motor because I saw him bringing that in. But he didn't give me a rundown of everything that happened. He said it was working and he fixed it. But I wanted to take a look in there to make sure everything was all right. Two weeks prior to that, there was a leak on the outside uni... read more
The Sears tech that came out for my washer was really professional. He did what he had to do. American Home Shield replaced the washer and they had contractors come out and deliver it. They were difficult. They said that my hookup wasn't going to work for that washer and that the drain was too high. I was talking to a friend of mine's husband. He owns a hardware store and he’s hooked up a lot of washers. I showed him a picture of it, so he googled it. Then he also showed me an owner's manual that it was not too high. It was ... read more
If you need to talk to a person at American Home Shield, you’re on hold forever. They need to improve the timeliness of their person to person communication. I was on hold for an hour but I was pleased with the professionalism, timeliness and quality of work of the contractor who came for the AC. It wasn’t working at all and they did the evaluation, got the unit and replaced it. They had face covering, gloves, and protective shoes on when they came. They made sure to distance themselves but I distanced myself too.
The guy from AMTEC Services came for the dishwasher. It's usable. It just doesn't dry all the way. He fixed it once, it didn't work. He came back to fix it, it didn't work. He came back the third time and said it needed a thermostat. That's been 10 days, still don't have the part, still hasn't been back. I just spoke with a lady this morning from AMTEC and she said the technician was gonna stop by the parts store to get more information. That's ridiculous. We have no timeline on whether the part's in, they've got it, or when... read more
AHS is very easy to file a claim with to get help scheduled when the unexpected 'breakdown or failure of the covered item occurs. For us, I put a request in for our A/C on Sunday and first thing Monday morning a Company was on the phone scheduling at least an 'equipment check' the same day. Had we known the outside unit was a frozen iceblock even in the 108-degree day, it would have been fixed when the Company arrived. Unfortunately, it was the end of the day for them and would take a few hours at least for the ice to melt s... read more
There was a pipe that was leaking. I have a well system, so the line that comes out from the well to the foundation wall goes into my main supply line. There was a T there slightly above where it entered and the nipple in-between the threaded pieces that combined the two T's together was cracked and leaking. Dan, the technician from Barker Services, came out and pretty much knew exactly what it was. He and I both had the same idea. He did everything that he was supposed to do and showed me the actual broken nipple. A good po... read more
I went through online for my dryer claim and I booked an appointment. We had a contractor call right away within a day. He came over to my house within a day and everything worked fine. He took his time. He did a great job because after fixing it, he even cleaned the dryer and all the washer area thoroughly with the vacuum. He didn't need to do it, but he did it. So it was a good experience with them. But the issue is back again. The dryer was working fine for one or two cycles and then it's taking two or three hours for the... read more
The AC stopped cooling and it was an issue that could not be fixed when it was leaking. Even though the technician put some Freon in there to hold things off until the unit got replaced, it was still leaking out and it froze the evaporator. American Home Shield sent SN Heating & Cooling and I didn't have trouble with them. They were great and amazing but I had an issue with my refrigerator. I had a technician here in July because all of a sudden, something was leaking underneath. It got into a situation where he said that it... read more
