The claim submission process was straightforward but it’s convoluted how to get in touch with AHS when you have an issue. There is no direct customer service, email or anything that they provide. So, I had to go through security then I was redirected to another department. It wasn't a cut and dried process. My claim is still being processed because the repair company charged me for a duct modification that was not required. The technician from Rescue Your Air called and let me know he was on his way. He replaced my thermostat and checked everything while he was here. Also, he had his mask on. Everything was excellent. I don't have any problems with American Home Shield at all but I have one with Greenway. It started off with my drain stopped up. The man came out and unstopped it. My air conditioner was making a lot of noise. I thought it was a bearing going out. It was pretty bad and it had gotten pretty loud. You could be watching the TV on a normal setting and when the air conditioner would come on, you'd have to max it. It was that bad. The contractor came out, took the whole fan unit out, tightened some bolts and put it back in. They added some kind of safety valve, but I paid extra for that out of my pocket. I had to call the contractor numerous times and it took them almost 10 days to come out. Whatever number I was dialing, it didn't have a voicemail. If I was able to leave a message or email, somebody would've answered. When I called Home Shield and complained, that's when they sent me a text message and said they were not open till Monday through Friday. But once I got in contact with the people, I got an appointment immediately. The problem was a belt on the dryer and the tech fixed it.
My husband and I were very please with the services received today. The technician was very knowledgeable about making the repairs on the oven and on the refrigerator. He was very polite, courteous, and patient with us and he want to make sure that we understood everything.
We had a garbage disposal that wouldn't work. The guy came in, did a good job, fixed it, and out he went. He was outstanding. Overall, American Home Shield is professional and thorough. The job was completed.
Great thorough service! He kept me informed of arrival, went right to work, put in ne parts and offered suggestions on filter adjustments.
I was having issues with my ducts. They were leaking or had condensation in them and I submitted a claim with AHS over the internet. I've used their website before for our air conditioning and it worked fine for me. Then, Brown Air Conditioning and Heating came out and they checked everything. They made sure everything was connected, that I didn't have any gaps and holes in it, and they didn't find anything wrong that could cause what I was experiencing. It's a forever wait if you try to get American Home Shield on the phone. But once I've learned how to submit claims online, it's extremely simple. Some of their contractors were great and some of them were terrible. The good people are probably the more expensive people, so Home Shield gets the bottom people. But I'm in a small town and there's not a lot available here so I'm just happy that somebody comes out to fix my issues.
