I called Home Shield to have the locks rekeyed. Lang's came out and the tech did the job efficiently.
I called up the numbers that I wanted to put in a claim and then they had an automated phone selection. They didn't have too many variables on the plumbing issues so I picked the one that applied best. When the company called, I explained it in better detail and there was no problem. All in all, it went smoothly. The people at Barker Services are outstanding. One of the stoves wasn't igniting and it was almost like there was a blockage in the gas line. I called the number that was provided to me by American Home Shield and they worked with us. They told us when they had the next availability for the tech to come out and I wasn't able to do one of the days, so they rearranged it.Then, the tech they came out in a timely manner and his diagnosis was good. The previous guy who came for my refrigerator kept saying that he didn't receive the right part from American Home Shield. I kept asking and asking and American Home Shield assigned me a different contractor, Alliance Appliance. A guy came out maybe a month ago for my refrigerator. He checked the part and said he will order it. I called Alliance Appliance three days ago and they said they haven't received the part yet. It all went real good for the refrigerator and the AC unit that I had fixed through American Home Shield. I called them in both at the same time but the guy for the refrigerator came out last. He was professional, on-time and got it done in 30 minutes once he got the part. It took a week for the part to come in after he figured out what the problem was. I'm happy I did American Home Shield.
American Home Shield has always treated us well. They provide good and prompt service. My recent claim was for the repair of our dishwasher. We had to pay $100 fee which is normal for our plan and that was all I paid. The contractor was good. The washing machine needed a new pump and he had to order one. It took about 10 days then he came and installed it.
The control panel for the pool equipment had died for some reason. It wasn't functioning properly so Watertight Pool and Spa came out. They had to order a new control panel to replace the one that wasn't working. When I called to let them know I couldn't program my pool with the new control panel, they ordered one that would be compatible. They had some internal ordering issues and I hadn't heard from them for a couple weeks. I called and after a couple of days, they called back. Sometimes I like to talk to someone to see if they can give me some advice, but it's very hard to talk to someone at American Home Shield. I'm on hold for a long time and I tend to never get a person or never be able to make a claim. When the fan was not turning on the AC, I requested the claim online. The technician from Comfort Zone came and he was able to fix my air conditioner within 20 minutes at the most. He also gave me recommendations on how to do preventive maintenance.
We had condensation coming out of our vents. It was dripping water and we thought maybe there was some leak going on, but it ended up being just condensation. The contractor who came was very friendly, very knowledgeable and provided a lot of knowledge. He checked the system for me and did a lot of things that he didn't really have to do, but he just wanted to double-check things. It's been good since then. I love AHS. It's so handy and it's a peace of mind to have it.
