We had an air conditioner issue. It had made a loud noise and it sounded like it just turned off. I went through my AHS app and I made an appointment through there. I like the app. That was the second claim I've ever had to make but I like to get on there. If I need to update my info or check to see what they cover in case anything happens, it's so easy to use. I called American Home Shield to handle our ceiling fan issue. Something must have gotten broke inside and it wasn't running. They sent their tech from Ideal Services and he fixed my problem. AHS's techs have all been nice workers. Having their warranty has been pretty good for me. This has been the third time that I called them - the first being for a plug and the second for the grinder in my kitchen.
American Home Shield has always been really good every time I’ve had to use them. My claim for my air conditioner was great. I had my daughter call them and the gentlemen came out. He was very pleasant. He came in in the laundry room and took the things off the wall where you put the filter and the one below it. He squatted down, put his hand in there and pulled this dead rat out of there. We've had MC2 Appliance before and we've always been pleased with their work and their professionalism. Recently, he came out for a clicking that was going on in the ice maker, which we keep turned off because they're notorious for leaking. I had bought a countertop ice maker that makes smaller ice and makes it better. It makes ice like the restaurant, the Sonic drive-in. Opal is the name of it. I have two air conditioners, one that does the back part of the house with the bedrooms and another one does the kitchen, living room, great room and game room. The one the front part of that house wasn't working at all and the back one wasn't seeming to get the house cool. American Home Shield sent out a repair guy from Quick Response. He was really great. J-Star Services repaired one faucet and replaced another one. I scheduled the claim on Sunday and I talked to them the next day Monday. There was a little bit of confusion and whether it was covered through the insurance or not. I had to kinda go back and forth between American Home Shield and them. American Home Shield said it was but they were saying it wasn’t so it kinda got delayed. They came out Wednesday versus Tuesday. But they were fine. I love American Home Shield. I called them to let them know that I wanted to get some locks changed. They set it up for me and were able to get them changed. They sent someone to the house to do it and everything was great. The experience was nice, simple and easy. It's the way I like it.
The technician was on time. They gave me a five-hour window, and they came out early for the AC. They had a mask and gloves on and everything was good, including the performance. In the beginning though, it was not that good. We were trying to get our AC fixed but they couldn’t do anything for us right away. We're in Florida and it was a lot of hassle. We were getting the runaround and we had to make a lot of phone calls to get that running, but now, we're good. The AC is working fine too.
I needed a rekey and I had a good experience with AHS. The representative that came walked me through the process on how he was rekeying all of the doors and he did a really good job. But when I attempt to contact American Home Shield about a service that has already been scheduled, or that has already occurred, it takes forever to receive a response or to reach someone. They should improve on that.
