We like American Home Shield. We got it for 25 years so we’re happy with it. When the garbage disposal wasn't working, the technician had a little wrench and fixed it. He left me with it so that if it happens again, I can fix it. He was on time and he was a very friendly guy.
I've had other companies like Old Republic for years, and my clients too. I'm a realtor and I hear complaints from them. It seemed like the customer service had gotten so bad with a lot of companies, but I heard that AHS had a good one. So, I went with them. The contractor that came for our AC was very good. He let me know that he was on his way, let me know he was 15 minutes out. The water was clogged up. I was assuming it was an algae that was clogging it and I couldn't find where that was. I’ve worked on several air conditioning units, including the ones at work. Sometimes, American Home Shield is okay, and sometimes, it's not. Right now, I have a warranty claim in for my hot water heater that’s out and I had them come. The people they hire let them know that the item is bad and a lot of times, I have to wait. I have to wait for them to get parts, get somebody to order it, and it can be another week or so before I get my hot water. That's the most annoying thing. American Home Shield seems to answer my service calls and I have no complaints with them whatsoever. I had an issue where the sink that the garbage disposal was connected to had a very slow drain and appeared to be clogged up. I looked at the pipes and saw no clog there. I determined it was something inside the garbage disposal. Since the sink was not draining properly, it hindered us from being able to wash dishes in a timely manner and keeping things clean and tidy. Both the technician and the plumber who came were very professional and they knew right away. They were quick too. For both of them, it was altogether 10 minutes. They were good and the experience was fine. Making a claim was easy. Any service is important with American Home Shield and it gets done right away. They contact you and the claim is a quick step. The electric stopped working in certain parts of the house. The contractor was on time and they were able to fix the issue pretty quick. The tech let us know that it was a real simple fix.
American Home Shield has a straightforward process. It was easy when I made a service request and it happened very quickly. My refrigerator needed some more coolant in it and the contractor who came was good. He didn't have the coolant needed and he wasn't able to fix the issue but he let American Home Shield know. They then sent somebody out a day later.
I called American Home Shield and they told them my washer was broken and was not working properly. They sent somebody out to fix it and they were very good. They fixed everything that day in less than an hour. My washer has been working fine. From the time I placed the phone call until the job was done, American Home Shield was very courteous and very efficient.
