American Home Shield came out and honored their contract. I can understand some reps a lot better than most of those that I talked to because of the accent they use though. I'm 62 years old, and I have a little ringing in my ears. If they don't enunciate and speak good English, I lose it. I don't hear it at all. We had a showerhead that was leaking and Zenco Plumbing fixed it. We were very happy with that. My husband said that he would use them again. They also spoke very highly of American Home Shield.
The pump motor that runs the filter for the pool was making a loud noise and then it went out. All American called me the next day after I placed a work order. They came out and troubleshot it. The technician said that it needed a pump. Things have been hard to get due to Coronavirus. So he just said that if he couldn't get here the next day, I should buy some chlorine and keep the fountain running so I could keep the pool going and it wouldn't go stagnant. It was very helpful. American Home Shield sent Moen Electric out for an electric issue. The guy was great, did a good job, got in and got out and went on his way. He's the ultimate professional. I've had American Home Shield for lots of years. I've seen the co-pay go up quite a bit. Other than that, I tell people all the time that I have nothing but good luck. My stove broke. I called AHS to submit a claim. The rep was good. The contractor came out the next day and he did a good job. He fixed it. It's working now. My experience with AHS has been good. No home should be without it.
If there are older appliances in the home, I would do the warranty. In the end, it doesn't cost that much for a little bit of peace of mind and so far, having AHS has served its purpose. Submitting a claim with them was fairly simple. It has been hard to call them but for my last claim, I did it online and it was a lot easier. It was fairly easy making a claim with AHS. The home warranty was part of my home purchase so my account was not probably been set up yet so I ended up calling them. I talked to a representative and that went fine. They sent out Bestway Mechanical to resolve the issue. Everything's great. AHS has excellent service and the service itself is highly recommended to any homeowner.
I’ve been with American Home Shield for a year and it is beneficial to have. It's easy to just have them have contractors come out, and not have to look for people and get things done. But the wait times were sometimes crazy whenever I put in a claim. It could be improved because being on hold for an hour was a little long. American Home Shield is very prompt and easy to work with. I did a claim online through the web app and it was simple. We had something wrong with the oven and they sent someone out as quick as possible. The contractor showed up on time, fixed the issue and even called us back to make sure it was still working okay. They were great.
