So far I've been really happy with repairs that have been needed. My ac unit has been replaced, spa heater repaired and a pool pump repkaced. Only concern I've had is the repair man they sent the first time on the spa and heater had made false statement on needed repairs requiring another pool repair person to come out and make the repairs. I have no say on who comes out when you first file a claim. In the long run its costing the home warranty company more money by still using the first repair person. High Priority was very good. They were very kind and considerate. They had their mask. They let me know what was going on as they did the stuff. They just finished up today and I'm waiting for my son to come over to check it out for me because I can't walk up and down the stairs.
The air conditioner wouldn’t stop running. I had to go and manually turn it off and turn it back on. I called American Home Shield and they were helpful. I ended up having to call the contractor though because I wasn't hearing from anybody. When they came out, the guy made the assumption and replaced the thermostat. That was it. I said, “My air conditioner’s old. Do you think there might be something else wrong with it?” He said, “No, this is the thermostat. I've been with AHS for four and a half years and they have sent us good contractors. The most recent one they sent, Cirigliano Plumbing, did very well for us.
The AC unit inside was leaking water and it was a decent-sized pool of water. We had a water sensor on our floor that picked that up and alarmed. The claim was put through to AHS and then, we were assigned United Air Temp. They did a good job the first time in assessing but we couldn't duplicate the result. After we dried up the water, it didn't leak again the next day. So, they didn't have anything to base on to figure out where the leak was coming from. Great response time and great service. I would give five stars but I didn't like the fact I could not talk to an actual person to explain the problems and had to be charged twice for one plumber to solve both issues (garbage disposal and sump pump). I understand that if I didn't have American Home Shield the cost may have been more and I'm still glad that I have this coverage.
Submitting claims to American Home Shield is faster and more efficient online. 15 minutes after I get into their system, it would tell me my technician and that they would be in contact with me. The system would give me the tech's phone number and contact information as well. AHS's process is a lot smoother than that of a previous company we had five years ago. I had been without an air conditioner for almost two weeks. I called American Home Shield and they sent somebody out who didn't fix the problem. So, I called them back and it was hard to get through to them. I'm 72 and I have lung problems so the heat really did me in. My granddaughter and daughter-in-law helped me a lot to get things done and get a hold of AHS.They finally texted me that another contractor called TexAire was coming out. When we were having the issue, we went through the website and it was great. I like the fact that I can just go in and click and schedule appointments. I wish I could pick certain days. Clear Horizon’s Construction came out to fix the light. It was a dimmer switch and they replaced it to a regular three-way light. But then my house has a ridiculous number of light switches so it’s not on them for picking the wrong one. But they tried to make sure all the switches were working and they couldn't get the light to work so they s... read more
