We went through a time period, maybe a year or two ago, where the customer experience was a little confusing and a little bit more difficult with American Home Shield. But overall, it has been pretty good. Of course, it was challenging during COVID when everybody was in quarantine, but we understood that because we were all struggling with the issue. But it seems to work pretty well so far and the customer experience actually has gotten easier. American Home Shield still got it done. The only thing I really have an issue with... read more

My outside unit was making a loud metal on metal noise, and the AC wasn't blowing cold at all. It was just staying hot in the house. Two days after I requested a service ticket, a contractor came out the first time and diagnosed it. It was the motor and the fan. It was a weekend when the guy came out and they were closed on weekends. He said he'd have to get the parts Monday. Monday then rolls around and they had to order the parts, so they weren't out till the following Thursday. It was a week later and he thought he fixed ... read more

The AC was backing up and it was draining into our house. AHS sent an AC guy out to see if it was an AC issue or if it was a plumbing issue. It was a back-and-forth thing and it took about two months to be repaired. I had AC the whole time but we had to put a pot underneath so it wouldn't drain in my house. Stan's Plumbing came out and rerouted our drainpipe. They were professional. Everything is fixed now.

My experience with American Home Shield has been outstanding. Submitting the claim is very easy when I do it on the internet. As long as I've got the login and password right, and I start saving it on my computer, it goes pretty smooth. Then a couple of hours or the next day later, I get a message with a schedule. The technician shows up one or two days after which is pretty good. It's within range. I used to have a different home warranty and they took a little bit longer. But Home Shield needs a little bit less of a lag be... read more

I wasn't sure if it was a water leak or an air leak because when the air conditioner was originally put in when they built the place, they didn't run the line out. They just hooked up to the outgoing line from the plumbing so the plumbers said it was not their problem. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. They went out there and found what the problem was. It was like a two-way issue. One of the lines that they ran into was going out of the house but instead of fixing that, they said it was an AC thing. He had to call his b... read more

Excalibur was our assigned service provider for an AC claim we had with American Home Shield. They had to come out twice to fix the compressor fan outside which is like 32 years old. I just bought this house. The first time they came, the problem had something to do with the Freon. I had to pay for the visit and I also had to pay them for Freon to put in the compressor. I don't understand about electronics or AC but within a matter of four days, the AC stopped working after they had come out the first time. They had to come ... read more

I was having a hard time with my air conditioning. It wasn't cooling my home. I went online and filed a claim with Home Shield. It was easy to pick my issue and put in my information on the website. Then, Reliable Mechanical Services came out and put refrigerant in the unit, which I didn't think was the issue. It ended up really not being the issue, so it still wasn't cooling. The issue is with the compressor. I had to call and they came out again. My air conditioner is working now. Home Shield has been a good value so far. ... read more

American Home Shield's service has been fine so far. I've used them about three times and in the most recent one, they sent out Blue Star Plumbing. The techs were on time and the service was done correctly the first time. They were great.
