We just bought this house so we hate to already have to work with Home Shield but Myers Comfort Specialist was very friendly. They were very thorough and gave us lots of good information. Also, the price was good. All in all, it was a really good experience with them.
American Home Shield is very convenient and affordable. I had a leaking pipe on my pool and when I submitted the claim online to them, they called me within an hour and told me that they would have somebody out in the morning. The contractor was right on time and they were awesome. The pool has been functioning good since they’ve been out. There are no more leaks.
Something went out on our dishwasher and my wife called American Home Shield. They sent their contractor Mr. Appliance of East Texas. The techs came and they figured out that the issue was some kind of circuit board that wasn't working. They had to order the part and it took almost a month for that to come in. The tech came back to put it in and fixed our dishwasher. So far, having AHS' coverage has been good so far. It's nice to have it as I have their help with paying for stuff. We had a clog in the sink in the bathroom and the bathtub. It was on Saturday that I submitted the claim and someone from American Home Shield gave me a call telling me that I was supposed to call the contractor directly and set up an appointment. I called them on Monday and they came the day after so it was quick. I was satisfied. The person came in and pulled out like bunch of hairs out of the pipe and that was it. I had a tub leak and plumbing issues with the shower as well as the kitchen faucet sink. I called American Home Shield, then they called and told me the name of the contractor that was coming. Then, the contractor called to verify the appointment. But the first people who came out were terrible. Then, I was switched over to Plumbing Enterprises and they provided good service. Since they came out, everything has been working fine, but the only thing they did was the kitchen sink. Other than that, AHS has been excellent.
Home Shield's website could be better. If there's an issue, I'd like to be able to give a little explanation as to what's going on. It prepares people for when they come out and they won't have to be surprised. Also, I'd like somebody to answer the phone. It takes a long time for someone to pick up. I would have to wait for like half an hour. They do call a call center in another country and it has frustrated me. I love American Home Shield. They're excellent and I'm very happy with them. Recently, I had an issue with one of my AC units where the fan wasn't working. I called a claim in with AHS and they sent out South Belt A/C and Heating. The tech fixed it then he left. I also had an issue with the other AC unit where it stopped working and it was not cold enough. We bought our first house and some of the appliances are quite old. We wanted to have that protection for at least the first year of moving in so that if we did have a big expense, we would be covered. We decided to get a warranty and we’ve had American Home Shield since February. Our fridge was squeaking and it sounded like a dog toy. American Home Shield came with the new house and I just renewed it. I've had their contractors come out for a few problems in the past year since I've been using them and I found the experience to be a positive one. Recently, my air conditioner was not working. Flamingo Cooling and Heating came out and fixed it. It's summertime, so it was vital to have working air conditioning.
