I liked that Home Shield covers more property. The submitting-a-claim process was simple and easy. GE Appliances came out and checked the stove, found what the issue was, and got it squared away so we could use our stove again. The tech tested the stove and said it was fine. It was a gas spout from my wall. So, there was nothing actually wrong with the stove. The tech came and made that assessment, and we got a plumber out to take care of the issue. I appreciate it. A prompt, courteous, efficient repairman. I felt at ease knowing he would do the job perfectly. When I called for an appointment the answering human set up the appointment based on my available time frame. We even waited patiently while I corralled my horse which got loose and the barking dogs that milled around him.
Good service. Always very efficient in responding to service request.
Every time I asked the technician if he wanted me to give him a hand, he said no. But he got the issue fixed right away. It’s just that he was really quick and he gave me the impression that he didn't wanna be there. But the other contractors have been great and I have no complaints.
I was trying to shop for another insurance and somebody told me I could go with Amazon. They started selling home insurance too and I buy from them but I don't have any experience with their home insurance. My friend has been using American Home Shield for 20 years or so. My other friends are using them as well, and I have another friend who wants to start using them. Cabot Mechanical was excellent. They had to come out twice. They had to go back and get a part. And a week later, we rescheduled, the tech put the part in. My husband dealt with him and thought he was really knowledgeable, very nice to work with and we were very pleased with the service. I've also used American Home Shield when I had a leak on like the water pipe from the street to the house. The guys they sent were great. There was a miscommunication about what was covered by Home Shield versus what we had to pay out of pocket. We had to reschedule a couple of times to make sure we had the money that they were requesting from us. But they were nice about it. They explained to me what their policy was so there wasn't really an issue. Home Service Corporation came out following a claim we made to American Home Shield for our AC. We weren't getting good airflow to the upstairs of the house. I had the air looked at and serviced. It was handled really well. The technician was professional and he found some areas that some air was leaking out to decrease pressure to the upstairs. It’s working a lot better now.
What AHS has done well is getting somebody out here expeditiously. The part that's more difficult is trying to make the initial consults or claim, just because the person that's on there is English-challenged. It’s very difficult sometimes to explain stuff to them ‘cause their vocabulary’s limited. So, therefore, they don't understand some things when you're trying to explain it to them.
