The claim process was fine. Sometimes it takes a long time for an answer, but everything else is great. My interactions were very good when I finally get through to a Home Shield rep. When my bathroom sink was stopped up or something happened in it, Affordable Rooter came out and did a great job. Everything with them went well.
I have a claim for my oven where AHS sent out Best Western Appliances. The techs did the best they could. They ended up ordering me a new one and it's coming. It's just that everything's backed up right now. But they have done a great job. Though it took a long wait to get somebody on the phone, it was only because of the COVID thing.
My friend had American Home Shield for her condo and 'cause she'd had good customer service with them, she suggested it to me. They've been able to fix my AC and they were able to take care of getting my water heater repaired. The air went out on a Friday. I filed the claim with AHS online and then they sent me an email and a text giving me the name of the person who will be coming out and their contact information. The contractor wasn’t coming out until Monday. I called AHS on Saturday because it was so hot. I said that there has to be somebody they could get to come out that day. My washer was serviced on 7/22/20. It was not fixable since the part is unavailable now. Service was fine. Now when I tried to get replacement or find how much I could get for new machine, I am not able to reach anyone. Have been on hold for 4 days, minimum of 3 hours each day with still no answer. I can't keep this up. I need a washer! I have been a member since 2006. I have never had so much trouble or frustration. Please help! Sally
I'm an original homeowner and when we purchased the condo, we got Home Shield. As my husband who passed away was elderly, and I thought instead of messing around, let's just do that. It's affordable, especially if you have some kind of an issue. You're putting money out every month thinking, “Oh, I'm giving them $57 a month, and it's a brand new condo, and my appliances are new.” But when you do have a problem, it would cost you a lot more in stress and everything else than if you had Home Shield. I had a call with Billy's a month before and they came and said what needed to be done. But they never came back and they couldn't be reached. I called them but the voicemail was full. So we ended up getting someone else to do the AC, but then it kept having issues. They followed up when we put the second order in. We were having a problem with the air handler not turning on as well as water dripping on the side. AAA All Brands Appliances took care of the water fast, but they had some problems with the air handler not coming on because it was intermittent. We later discovered that it was the timing and relay and with bypass. AAA was very good, very thorough and friendly. They were concerned about the problem and my satisfaction. Our central air conditioning unit was not working. I had no difficulty submitting a claim for the issue to AHS. They then sent Greenway services. The gentleman form there was punctual and professional in the manner by which he dealt with us.
