I call in and let Home Shield know what's going on and they give me a business that would contact me and schedule with me. It is a relatively easy process. If you get the right company, they will come out the next day and if they can't fix it, they will order the part, come back and fix it. Or if they can’t fix it, they will replace it. I had American Home Shield years ago. For whatever reason, I let it lapse, but I'm very happy that I was able to re-enroll again. It's very easy and simple to submit claims. I just make a phone call, and everybody is very professional. Everything is then taken care of very quickly. One time, GE Appliances came out and everything worked out well. The gentleman came and he had to order a part that came in in three to four days. It was really quick.
We’ve been with American Home Shield for two years and it’s a toss-up with them sometimes. SDL Plumbing did what was needed to be done. It was a good service and it was very professional. Also, the job was well done. But then, I had more plumbing issues. You start fixing one thing and then suddenly the next thing breaks. The dishwasher was not working so I told AHS and the rep told me it may be changed or replaced. But when the service guy from Arno came in, he told me he cannot fix it because it has bigger problems. AHS sent me an email for a new one and gave me three options.
My AC defrosted itself and flooded my kitchen floor. I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and had an easy time using their website. Their contractor San Antonio Appliance Repair called within 24 hours and the techs from there were really nice. So far, things have been good since they came. I enjoy having AHS.
My AC wasn't cooling and there wan issue with the Freon. I called AHS and the rep I talked to was fine. I was told to expect the contractor within 24 hours then J.F. Whitlow Jr & Sons Incorporated came out. They were great and but before the service, we couldn't sleep. We couldn't do anything without AC, so it was a necessity and an emergency. Since the service, the AC's performance has been wonderful.
AHS is an insurance policy. I signed up with them to have the coverage and not to go out buying brand new right away. There was a problem with the stove. It was a fuse and the circuit wasn't set properly. The technician that AHS sent out was great. He went for the panel and tried a couple of things. The stove had no current, so we went out to the panel box. For some reason, the breaker didn't break, but it was popped. I always like American Home Shield's service. It's always super quick. Not even 10 minutes, and you get a response from them. Their claim process is very easy. We don't really do much. They take care of it. They sent Eagle Air out for our AC unit. They were great. The technician was super nice and helpful. The problem wasn't with the AC unit, but it was an electric problem. We use American Home Shield all the time and we pretty much like who then send out, for the most part. They seemed to get it done. So it's a good value and we will continue to use it. The plumber that they sent out was good and we liked him. We had a stoppage in the sink and he fixed it on the same day. So far, everything has been good.
