My friend has American Home Shield. I was like, let me try it. Recently, F6 Plumbing came out and it was good. They were very fast and in and out. I submitted that claim online to AHS and it was really easy and simple. I had an issue last week with my dryer. Someone came out, but they were unable to fix it because that needed a part. We have been members of American Home Shield for three years. During that time we have received excellent service when we called with problems concerning our air conditioning, microwave and washing machine. Their response is prompt, communication is plain, their vendors are first rate. We highly recommend American Home Shield to our neighbors and friends.
Our kitchen sink had a leak and our upstairs toilet had an issue. I went online and got the customer service number of American Home Shield. Their reps were great over the phone. I told the one I spoke to about the sink and the toilet and she said it would not be a problem to submit both issues under one claim since they were both plumbing issues. I did the request online and Dimitresse Construction got back to me within 24 hours. They then came out and it went very well. The guy had to pick up a part that went inside the toilet tank, something like the flap or the other part, and he did so. He came back the next day and he fixed the issue. He had a mask on the whole time and he also showed me where the main water valve is in the apartment, which I didn't know which one was. The light to the ceiling just stopped coming on. It was not working. I submitted a claim through American Home Shield's website. I didn't have any issues submitting my work order. So, I was fine with it. When I submitted the claim, they sent me an email and a text also. Something popped up on the screen, and then I received a text message on who was coming out and the timeframe for them to be contacting me. Moen Electric went on and contacted me that Monday. American Home Shield needs to be careful who they're sending out. They have to be reputable and they have to make sure that they're good quality. Sometimes the service people that they send out are questionable. A lot of times they'll just clean something up or put a band-aid on some of the problems versus changing out the parts. That irritates me in some ways. The compressor on the air conditioner was not working and the contractor, World Class AC, replaced it. Then, there was an issue after they replaced it, so the guy came back out and fixed that problem. I also had a plumbing issue in the laundry room and American Home Shield had someone come out and fix the valve, which was fine as well. Air condition repair visit included cleaning the coil. The work was done very professional and it included two visit one to diagnose the problem and check to see if it was cover by the insurance and the second visit was cleaning the coil. The air condition is working fine now.
I've used AHS a few times. I just had to pay my deductible when my dryer went out, and they sent somebody out and fixed it. The only problem with my recent claim for the AC was, I didn't know I was gonna have to pay for the coolant on the air conditioner, and that was 800 bucks. That was a pretty penny. So I ended up paying almost $1,000 ‘cause I paid the first 125 for this assessment. I thought AHS would pay for everything after I paid my deductible. But it’s better than paying 5,000.
