I called the home warranty for my fridge claim. Installz Plus came out and looked at it. Then they came in and ordered the wrong part. They said they're gonna come back with the correct one but they haven't come back yet. Nonetheless, American Home Shield is great. They take care of the situation for you.
American Team came out for our AC and we love them. We've had them multiple times for different calls and they were always great. The person who scheduled the service was very, very professional. She was very, very nice and very good. We love Gus, who is one of their senior people. We usually will wait for him if he was not available. But he wasn't available today because he got hurt so they sent someone else. The person came out and he quickly diagnosed the problem. Flushers Refrigeration did a really good job. However, I did have a problem when I filed the claim to American Home Shield. It said to call them 'cause it was a Saturday when it happened. The number that was there was not their emergency number. When it's 115 on one day, you can't live without an AC. It's too hot in the house. That was a problem but it wasn't with them. I was having a kitchen renovation and my contractor was up in the attic. He noticed that the drain pan for the air conditioner was full. He told me it shouldn't be like that. It was overflowing and coming out the soffit of the house, which is perforated and it's okay for stuff to come out of it. But it shouldn't be doing that either. The oven of our electric range wasn't regulating temperature as the element in it that was bad. We set it to like 400 degrees and it would only be 250 degrees. American Home Shield had Tompkins Appliance Service put on our case and they were extremely professional. Their guy called before he showed up. He diagnosed the problem fairly quickly then ordered parts. As soon as they got parts in, he called and said he was in town. He would be there in 10 minutes. He got the oven fixed quickly. The AC wasn't getting cold. The contractors that came for it were very good. They called me ahead and told me the night before when they were coming, and then they called again and told me when they were on their way. They were timely and then they fixed the problem. They were professional. So overall, it was an enjoyable service. The coverage of AHS has been good. But I wish they covered more of it 'cause I had to come out of pocket quite a bit. It's easy to get service and get anything repaired with American Home Shield. When my microwave oven wasn't heating properly, I went to their website and requested for a service. Then they assigned Axis who called and scheduled to come out. They then showed up, fixed the problem and left. It was all good. The microwave has a new part put in and it's functioning. It's hard to heat up food without a microwave, especially with COVID being around.
I'm pretty pleased with American Home Shield and everything seems to be fine. Making a claim is pretty easy. But it appears like they picked the cheapest contractors they could find to send out to repair appliances. I haven't had any problems though. They've all been working just fine. When my ice maker wasn't working because a fan that blows the cold air up to it had gone out, a tech from Mr. Canela Appliance Repair came out. He replaced the whole fan unit of the refrigerator.
Home Shield had Tommy Davis Electrical Services come out for a claim we made for our AC. They worked on it for quite a while. The tech was worried though and said he had to cut down something and put a new fan in. They cut something and added some wire and everything.
