The pan in the air conditioning unit up in the attic overflowed and water went through the ceiling. James from the contractor, Changing Winds Heating, came out. He was great, personable, knowledgeable, and quick. He cleared the lines and dried everything up. The actual components of the unit itself were not broken but he repaired the issue that was causing the water to remain in the pan.
We have AHS policies for both of our households and have had since 2002. Overall, we are so thankful that we do. The hardest part of having the policies is waiting for service and communication from the service provider. Otherwise, we have no real complaints. Having AHS in place helps relieve the fear of malfunctions of our homes. That is especially important as we age.
Someone from Sears came out a day after I made my claim to American Home Shield. The claim was for my refrigerator and the process was easy. The tech who came was great. The fridge has been great since then. I like American Home Shield and I would recommend them. They're not perfect, but they are almost.
Everything went well when Searle’s Appliance came out for my dryer. They were real quick and courteous. The guy had to change the heat element the same day he came out and the dryer is working better than it was working before. I'm very impressed by American Home Shield.
We had a clog. We have a sink in the garage and The Lindsay Company came out and they did that. We also had a diverter in the bathroom upstairs that wasn't working so they replaced that. I notified American Home Shield about the issues through the website. It was very easy to use. We logged in, we set it up, and then The Lindsay Company was assigned. The guy from Tom Melton Services was really nice and did a good job. He was in and out. In fact, he went above and beyond because he found a leak that I didn't know was there and he went on and fixed it too. He said he couldn't leave that unfixed. He did more than what I even knew was wrong with what I had. I kept this phone number in my phone directory just in case because if I ever have any plumbing issues, and I have to call American Shield again, I hope they send the same plumber. My burners were not coming on and the claim was handled wonderfully. The contractor took about 48 hours to get here and fix it. I’ve been with American Home Shield for about six months and this was my first claim with them. It was a good experience and I was very satisfied.
I am NOT one to laud false praise, in fact, I’m generally the one to see issues and call them out, however, with AHS I cannot praise them highly enough! They have saved me thousands and they’ve made fixing issues so easy. I chose them after asking a friend who repairs appliances what comp y he’d recommend, and he immediately said AHS. They never argue a repair or replacement, and they make sure everything is done to my satisfaction. I would sing their praises to the world if I could!
I’ve had American Home Shield for a full year now and I like having that one fee to pay for any issues I might have. Recently, the tech from Mason Mechanical came out for our AC unit. He knew exactly what was wrong with it and fixed it. The only issue was the timeframe. They don't work on weekends, so I had to go all weekend with no AC. It was hot and in the 90s. I got some fans, opened the windows, and waited. I would suggest that American Home Shield contractors be more available on the weekends.
