We just moved into a new house and we were rekeying it. We reached out to American Home Shield online. A man from Dan's Pro-Lock came out for the rekey. He was good and I didn't have a problem. It was great. The only thing is I'd like to see a more user-friendly website for American Home Shield. It was shocking. It was not easy to get in and to navigate. So far, American Home Shield has been good. When our kitchen sink was clogged, they had Gaithersburg Plumbing fix it and they were done in a heartbeat. I just submitted the claim online and it told me that someone was gonna call from this place. The plumbing company called me and then we made an appointment and they came. It was easy. I didn’t go through any person. It was all online.
I had a claim on the refrigerator. I was unable to change the water filter. It just would not come out. My husband and I couldn't get it out. Rather than taking a risk of really doing more damage than good, we just went ahead and made the claim with AHS. I went online and said, “I've got a claim, I've got a problem.” It didn't give me a choice. I have a neighbor that uses American Home Shield and I have another girlfriend that uses them. I had been using Choice for about five years, and I know that I'm getting ready to rent out my house. When things happen on the weekend, we have to wait when the contractors are available on Monday. They just have the weekday hours so we have to wait till then. Usually, they try to come soon but we have had to wait for longer periods of time with American Home Shield. We've had them for a number of years, so we have a lot of experience with them. There was a problem with our refrigerator. The frame for the water dispenser was broken. Airboss Mechanical came and replaced the entire frame. They had to order the part but as soon as the part came in, they were here the next day and the process took half hour. They were great. They were friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable. They also came out to fix an issue with our air conditioning unit when some part was broken that needed to be replaced.
The service was excellent. The service man answered my questions and gave me some great info about my A/C. He went up on the roof and fixed the problem. He also showed me hoe to clean the condensation line. He was very professional. I would use this company again.
The drain pipe got clogged with debris so water was backing up on it. I had to turn off the AC because of that. I sent in a claim online and the contractor came out the next day. They unclogged it and made sure everything was nice and fine. It was flawless.
On one occasion, I called up American Home Shield and it took forever to connect with them. Still, submitting claims to them online has been really easy. I had a couple of leaky faucets. AHS's contractor Plumb Genius came for my claim and did a really good job.
