We've had American Home Shield for years. For a couple of years, they were sending people who weren't local to us and it would take longer which was not a good experience. Other than that, we've always been really happy with them. We had a technician from Service Plus who did a great job on the dishwasher. It was very quick and everything went well.
The electricity was not working. The technician had to wait for Pacific Gas to come and shut off the electricity in the house. We waited about three months because of COVID-19. When they fixed the electricity in the living room, the electricity in the kitchen didn't work. When they fixed the electricity in the kitchen, the electricity in the bedroom didn't work. I called American Home Shield and requested assistance with locating an electrician and then paid them $100 service fee. Oldham County Electric came out to fix the electrical sockets for our dryer. There were two of them and they were both really nice. They were here for like 5 to 10 minutes. They knew exactly what was wrong, got it working, and actually identified additional issues that we needed to, and could address on our own. We had a furnace issue and when I submitted the claim, the operator really helped me out. The first time, it only took about 15 minutes. The second time was a lot longer. Then the third time I had to call in, it said that it would be over an hour and they asked if I wanted to have an operator call me when somebody was free so I just opted for that. Overall, I’m pleased. American Home Shield has been a great coverage. They've responded to the issues I have made a claim on. More Than Plumbing came to repair the shower faucet and the bathroom faucet that were leaking. They were able to do the repair that same day.
Our dishwasher wasn't draining. It was filling up and spilling on the floor. I called AHS and GE Appliances came out within a few days. First time, the first tech told me he fixed it but he didn't. The next day, it overflowed again and they had to send somebody else out. That guy fixed it. I like having coverage with American Home Shield as it saves me money.
When I flipped my air conditioner switch to have it come on, it just never did. I contacted my homeowner’s insurance and submitted a claim. They said that NW Sundance Services would be contacting me back shortly after I did that and they did. They were great. Since they came, everything has been good. We were in 90 plus degree temperatures and the repair has really benefited us quite a bit.
A-US Air Conditioning did seem to do a pretty good job restoring, repairing and replacing the AC. The unit they put in is nice. It uses R134a. But they didn't finish the job it seemed to me. The fan doesn't blow air through the house. The air conditioning just kind of drifts out of the vents. There's no push behind it. They also said they will install a thermostat and they never did. Texas Plumber was really good and informative. Unfortunately, they couldn't fix the problem. The guy said that the toilet would flush and do everything. But it just wouldn't contain the water in the bowl. The water in the toilet bowl would drop to a very minimum amount. But it was working. They said that it might be a vent that needed to be cleaned and that would have to be done by another company.
