A problem that I used to have with American Home Shield is that whenever their contractors would show up, they would need my $75 upfront before they even walk through my door. A lot of them would show up, get the $75 and act like they were checking stuff then leave. For the most part, those contractors were a bunch of crooks. American Home Shield is amazing. They are dependable and reliable. The people they contract with are amazing and very knowledgeable. Speaking as a 73 year old woman whose husband is 89 and can no longer do repairs around the house, this company has given me hope that I can continue to live in my home. You see, I have a good home warranty company to have my back with things.
My initial service call was a horrible experience. I was on hold for three hours and I literally stayed on hold because my AC went out. AHS could not get me connected with anyone. Once I got a chance to speak to the representative, they referred my claim out. Also, the individuals did not get back with me until three weeks later.Then, whenever I started my dishwasher or whenever I had a large amount of water draining at one time or whenever I ran my garbage disposal, there was a large puddle of water under my kitchen sink. I was having issues with the air not getting cool. I did a claim to American Home Shield online. The website was pretty good but that was my last resort because I tried to call and I couldn't get anybody on the phone. This was my first claim. They said the call volume was high and I waited about an hour and I just gave up and just did it online. Everything that I've ever called American Home Shield about has worked out well. They've done a good job and fixed my problems.
My experience with *************** was great. My technician Steve was very knowledgeable and was able to tell me the problem within minutes. He inform me that the parts had to be order and all in all the turn around time was within a week. We were able to set up a time as to when I would be home and I was always inform by text and email with updates. Steve returned and was able to install the parts within an hour with very little trouble. I will definitively use *************** and their tech Steve in the future.
I had a service request with American Home Shield that I did online. I had no problem with the service request, although they need to provide an option where you can type in the problem as opposed to selecting from their own little menu that they provide, which is kinda limited. We purchased AHS last year. We have a brand new house, but it's already five years old so the original warranty had expired. So we decided to purchase one from a recommendation of a friend and we had not had any problems. Then sure enough, now this summer when it got warm, we turned our air conditioning on and it wasn't working. It just wasn't cooling. AHS sent a repair person who came out and fixed the problem. We had keying done through Home Shield. The locks were changed. It was a good job. The technicians from C&D Lock and Security were very good. I understand that the woman that was with the guy was one of the first professional locksmiths to be qualified in Oregon.
