American Home Shield is simple to use. I've had them quite a while and they work pretty good. I’ve had a garbage disposal replaced and a hot water heater replaced twice. I’ve also had two or three of the pumps on the pool replaced over the years. My daughter's got AHS too and a couple of times she's had them come out, her copay was like $81 because of the taxes. Our smoke detectors were tweeting all the time. The first person that American Home Shield sent wrote down that that was because of water damage, and I told him that there were two detectors upstairs. One side was due to water damage. It was taken off, but the one that he didn't even bother to check was fine. It wasn't that. It kept on tweeting. So the second person that came checked it out and he said it wasn’t water damage. My toilet was clogged. I went online and submitted a claim. The AHS website was cool and pretty simple. I got a response the same day from the actual contractor, Honesty Mechanical. I wasn't available that day so they scheduled it for the next day. The guy was phenomenal and swift. The service was good.
We had a zone downstairs and a zone upstairs and the downstairs one stopped working. It happened on a Friday afternoon. I filed a claim with Home Shield and Next Generation came out the following week. They figured out that it was a bad thermostat and replaced it. There was one time, I tried to do something online, but for whatever reason, I couldn't so I called. But it was fine. Home Shield does what I want it to do
Ray Stoval came out for a plumbing problem with the tub, and they were fine. The tech was nice and very professional. Home Shield is a good company.
The contractor that came out for our AC was very nice, knowledgeable and he did a good job. I didn't have any problems with him. There was a leak in the system somewhere and I just needed some Freon. I haven't had any problems with AHS. I also had an icemaker replaced before.
One of the AC units in our house was on and it was blowing hot air. The contractor ended up coming out two days in a row. They made a fix the first day and it was blowing cold air again. Then, it started blowing hot air intermittently. So, I called them back. I went directly to them because I had talked to people there and they came back the same day that I called them. I filled out American Home Shield's claim form online for an electrical issue in my garage. In about three days, their contractor Oak Electric came out. The techs from there were very professional. Everything has been resolved. So far, AHS has been very good in the two claims I've had with them. One was for my garage electrical issue and the other was for my AC. Everything has been handled without any problems. I'm very pleased with this company.
Air Flow came to work on an air conditioning unit, but the problem wasn't solved. It was dealt with by my tenants and I wasn't very happy with what they reported. Still, to deal with American Home Shield is fine. Everything is done online.
