Overall great response times and service contractors. One issue with open claim for over 2 months due to contractor lack of availability, waiting 2 weeks for initial appointment, 1 week for them to place order of parts, 1 week to call to schedule repair after receiving parts, 2 week wait time for appointment availability with parts. Arrived for repair and unable due to issues which were identified during initial appointment 6 weeks prior. Another 2 weeks before they could return with appropriate staff to complete repair. I am a first time homeowner. So far América Home Shield has assisted me with replacing a dishwasher. In order to install the dishwasher that I preferred, I needed to spend money but not nearly as much as I would have spent without my AHS warranty plan. I will renew my home warranty plan for the next year.
Immediate assignment of a qualified contractor. Website is good but usually can also speak with a representative within a very short wait. Uses very qualified contractors who are very responsive to requests for service.

We had American Home Shield for one year after the purchase of our home. The good: when I made a service request, they scheduled someone promptly and the technicians generally were good. The bad: the deductibles are high enough to really make you think twice about calling. When we had a microwave that needed replacing, we got stuck in the transition from service to appliance purchasing and it took three long phone calls, each on hold for 30+ minutes just to get someone on the phone, two of which dropped before finishing and ... read more
