We recently bought a house with a pool and we noticed a leak near the pump. I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and that was really fast. The issue is when I need to call customer service as I'm on hold for a while with them. When I speak to somebody though, they have been very helpful and do everything they can to get my issue resolved. For my pool claim, they sent S & G Pools and Spas to do service. Everything was covered. We've had four or five issues already and every one has been resolved with AHS's servic... read more

Dave and Sons Plumbing was excellent. I've used them a few times over the past couple years and I prefer using them whenever I can. They always take good care of me. My tenant is happy with their work and I am as well. I have had American Home Shield for quite some time. I was going to switch to another service, but their customer service team worked with me to give me a one free time credit to use for one of the services for my house.I had an older program and missed the update of the program. I had an issue and the issue w... read more

When I put in my initial request for a service repair, I receive a response within 24 hours. However, the contracting agency usually does not respond within 72 hours of their appointment. I don't know if they have customers ahead of me, which I am not gonna gripe about ‘cause everybody needs their stuff fixed. But it just takes longer than I would expect. Then if they have to order a part, it's another week or two. However, when these contractors come, they were really proficient in getting the job done. The service call her... read more

We've had to use AHS more than once, & are always pleased with the professionalism & quick response to contract the right people. We've never been disappointed in who they send & the problem is always resolved. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. It is worth the monthly fee to have peace of mind knowing the response will be quick & professional.

I filed a claim for the refrigerator ice maker through my American Home Shield warranty and they were the ones who booked the appointment. The contractor asked me if he could come in that day within 30 minutes or so and he did. He checked the refrigerator and said it needed to be replaced. He also said that they needed to be okayed by the home warranty. He called me up about a day or two days and said he got the approval. He came with the ice maker. I did not have any problem with these people but I'm supposed to call them t... read more

Submitting claims over the phone and online to AHS are both easy and simple. However, their online process is vague. I was planning on being more specific but they didn't have that option. They should add a comment field that goes to the contractor. Recently, our freezers had frozen water and the contractor sent by AHS identified the problem. He made sure it was covered on his end before he replaced a part and it was. He had the part needed in his truck and he fixed my issue right away. For another recent plumbing issue, ano... read more

A good service for peace of mind on big ticket appliances in your home. They need to clarify certain language in the contract, but for the most part it is straight forward. Calling them before requesting service is recommended so you can talk through your issue and understand if it is actually covered. Always read carefully and understand what the repair entails and what is broken so you are not surprised by extra costs for parts, procedures and modifications that are not covered.

We had a leak in our water heater. The contractors came out and did an initial assessment and notified American Home Shield that it needed to be replaced. AHS replaced it. The contractors did a pretty good job. They were able to come in the next week and get it fixed. We also had our locks changed when we moved in. Submitting a claim to AHS has been pretty easy and the contractors have done pretty good work. So far, our experience with AHS seems pretty seamless and I haven't had any issues with it.
