I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield for an outside faucet that had a leak. Their site is easy to use and their system told me when to expect a call from their contractor. Plumb Genius came out to my place within 72 hours and their tech was pleasant and easy to work with. Things have been great since he came out. We've had AHS for several years and they have been responsive. We've had a great experience with them so far.
There was no hot water and I submitted a claim to American Home Shield. The plumber came out and he said that it was not a plumbing issue. I spent 100 for that and then, I did another claim for electrical. It was not even five minutes when the rep figured everything out. He came in, looked, walked outside and popped a fuse and popped another one in, and then he was gone. I still have hot water since they came out.
The AC kept freezing up and wouldn't cool down the house. It took time for American Home Shield to process the paperwork. The AC unit was down for almost a month and the majority of it was just waiting on American Home Shield to go over the paperwork and allow Affordable Heating to come out and do the work. We're not the only ones out there to have to do claims and it's understandable. But it's miserable with the heat. I moved from up north from Pennsylvania. Cumulatively, I've been using American Home Shield for about 19 years, on and off. Their claims process is easy and you can process the claims online. We made a claim when water was gushing out of our AC terribly. South Cooling was our contractor for this one and they were very timely in getting out here. They found a clog in the drain. I submitted a claim online and AHS gave me the company, the US Air, but they were around the Dallas area, which was two hours away. But the guy that works for them as a technician lives here, so it was okay. He was very polite, courteous and very timely. I told him when he called, what I had been doing to the air conditioner to keep it going a little bit just to cool the house under 100 degrees because it was 105 degrees when it went out. When the washer was spun, it banged really hard. And then, when I poured the liquid inside the little drawer for the detergent, it poured onto the floor from inside the machine. It was really weird. I don't know what the cause was, but both of those things were happening with the machine. I submitted the claim online. I keep AHS in case something happens to my stuff. Recently, they sent Atlas Residential Services to me for my garage issue and they were fine.
In the nine years that I have been with American Home Shield, I just like the service and how they cover the items that they say they are gonna cover. We haven't had to fight for coverage. I make my service requests online. It's easier that way as I don't like being on the phone. For one claim I had, they sent out Fruge's Air Conditioning & Refrigeration and they were great.
