Having coverage with Home Shield keeps the cost down a little bit for initial service calls and things of that nature because usually, there's usually a lot more to begin with. One time, there was water dripping from the ceiling. It was a pipe that was blocked in the AC. There was overflowing and water going onto the floor of the AC unit. The tech from AAA Cooling & Heating cleaned out the pipe and there's been no evidence of water since then.
Sometimes I have difficulty getting through to American Home Shield when I submit a claim. There is usually a long hold when I make a call and would usually be for about 30 minutes at least to reach a person. Sometimes it's longer. If they could answer their telephone instead of having to hold for so long, that would be wonderful. Most of the time, the contractors they send out are fine and they can fix the problem. Our air conditioner would force air, but it wouldn’t cool so I filed a claim with AHS through their website. It was pretty easy to use. Everything’s real quick. Right off the bat, it said the contractor should contact us within 24 business hours, and they did. And they said they’d be out the same day, which they were. They had to put in a secondary bid for some additional work that we found out after the fact, and they were able to get parts needed and do the entire installation within two business days. The service from Home Shield has been very good that’s why I extended the contract last year. Submitting claims has been pretty straight forward. I do it online. I filed a claim when there was a leak in my toilet and SAP Services changed the valve and fixed that. They knew what they were doing and it took 15 minutes.
Everything was wonderful with Airmax. It was very informative and very professional. The tech didn't take long to fix the issue with the AC. He knew exactly what it was. I put in the claim on a Monday and he came on a Friday. I wish it was a little quicker, but I understand what's going on with the pandemic. I've only had one issue with AHS. There was an electrician that I did not like. He took almost three weeks trying to fix something but never did. He wasn't very polite. He was very arrogant. He was not good. I had to go ... read more
I have been with American Home Shield for more than 10 years, and it has been a Great Investment Whenever there is a problem with the AC,hot water heater, washer or dryer... We call American Home Shield. A Happy customer for ten + years.
Filing claims has been a pretty easy process. Sometimes we do it online and sometimes we do it over the phone. This past time we did it online because of the virus and AHS reduced staffing of the call centers. The contractors they've used have been very nice, polite, thorough, and effective. There were some extra parts that were supposed to be for the vents for the AC's intake vents. They said they had to backorder those and I was waiting to hear more about that. The heat pump that I had was clanking and causing some problems. I called and talked to American Home Shield and they said that they would have somebody come out and look. I told them that it looked like it was about a 100 years old too. Northwest Heating & Cooling was sent out and they examined the whole unit and the unit inside. They found that it needed to be replaced and that part of one of the units had stuff in it that wasn’t even legal anymore. So, they replaced the whole unit. The contractors were great. Our toilet was leaking called and made an appt. They came out in 2 days and fixed it. Agent fixed problem left work area clean. AHS has always sent great companies to do any repairs. We have had them for 20 years.
