They send local contractors. Most have been good to excellent. Recently, they sent one that caused damage to my house. AHS does not stand behind this, told me to work it out with the contractor, who will not take responsibility. I’m very disappointed to know that AHS sides with the contractor, not the customer, when I have proof they caused damage.

They are great on small items like Disposals but anything large - not so much. HVAC - constant small repairs - technician from 75 miles away. They refused to repair. Washer/Dryer combo - Tech told me right out that they would decline to repair due to costly part. So he left without fixing. I called to complain and they assigned the same guy who never showed. I called to cancel my membership and the guy was very nice - talked me out of cancelling and would send repairman without my paying my deductible. Never heard from them ... read more
The service fee us to high and am pay more out of pocket to fix my on service
They send out unqualified technicians who squeeze you in and tell you anything. Never close to a resolution.

I have been waiting since May 2022 and it is now November 2022 to get my washer fixed. The company came out told my husband they order the parts but did nothing. I have been in and out of the hospital this year and have told them I need clean clothes and sheets due to numerous surgeries. All they have told me is wait for this one to call or that one to call and I am still waiting. I have medical issues which does not mean nothing to them . I am so angry the way they have handled this.

Electrician advised I need a new paddle fan. advise I would receive a call back from American Home Shield and/or his company. i've called six times still waiting for two weeks and American Home Shield's customer service reps keep lying to me telling me that they are going to send matter to the escalation department and/or your subcontractor department to resolve this issue. So far it's been over a month and every time I call I get the same response from American Home Shield customer service reps they will escalate this issue... read more

Had old unit and was told I had to pay lot of money to help repair. Unit was old and didn't make sense to spend that much money on old unit. Replacement was refused so I had to buy a new unit out of pocket. Used non American Homeshield Company. Another time heater needed replacing. I had to pay over $2000.00 out of pocket for things I was told were not covered.

My a/c unit stopped working and AHS response time to resolve my issue was horrible. Waiting on them to resolve the issue took nearly a month. I got tired of waiting and replaced my unit in my own.

Very bad experience as a first time customer. New to AHS. AHS should have a list of contractors for AC and heating that do have long ladders to go out to customers house. They assigned me like 6 different contractors that none have ladders to go up and service my AC unit.
