Quite disappointed and appalled. I had to pay a service fee of $125 twice for one service call because they had to come multiple times when it was no fault of mine and I was eventually asked to pay the vendor the full cost of repair after I was assured everything was going to be taken care of. They managed to code it to prevent payment. That's just terrible. It's been almost three weeks and my issue hasn't even been resolved.

I recently had an issue with my washer and contacted American Home Shield (AHS) for assistance. Unfortunately, it turned into a frustrating and inconvenient ordeal that took a month to resolve. While I appreciate that the issue was eventually fixed, the process was not easy. I used AHS for over 7 years. I left them over a denied claim. I was first told the claim was denied because my policy did not cover replacing a pressure regulator. I had to point out the specific language in the policy to the call center agent to show it was covered. I was then told it was denied because it was not the right size for the house, although it appeared to be the original pressure regulator on an 18 year old house. My calls were ignored. Hours of calls and no one ever returned calls from upper management. Issue was never resolved since August 2021.

I have found that there are a number of requests for service that I have made that are denied by AHS, in particular a request I made to have my garage door opener fixed/adjusted. When the vendor arrived he informed that AHS would not cover the repairs. As a result of this I paid AHS $100 for nothing. This is unacceptable. In the meantime my fee has risen from around $50 to well over $60. I am now researching competitors to AHS and will likely make a shift when I locate a competitor that provides better coverage.

They hardly covered anything that I needed in order to get my A/C fixed and had very little to no compassion, considering the heat waves we are currently experiencing. There was lack of urgency as well.
