Contractor showed up and fixed the problem in a timely fashion in this case. However my hot water heater replacement in 2020 was horrible. A loophole in the wording of the contract resulted in a $500 charge that was bordering on criminal. AHS response to my complaint was totally unsatisfactory.

It's 6 month and still my oven range has not been fixed.

I've been without hot water for almost a week and every time the plumber goes to pick it up they're told it's not there. Now I'm told they're to pick it up from another store but American home shield did not let me the plumber know this. Now there are no openings until next week. I offered to pick it up but was informed I could not. So it's another weekend with no hot water. I am filling a complaint with the BBB

Difficult to get ahold of anyone. Follow up services by tech's takes 3-8 weeks with zero communication from AHS. No information on how to do a cash out, had to learn from techs doing service

MY AIRCONDITIONER BROKE ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND STILL WAITING FOR ELITE TO COME AND FIX IT THIS WEEK WE WILL BE ON THE 3DIGIT TEMP ALSO IT DAMAGED MY BATHROOM FLOOR WIT THE WATER THAT IT WAS COMING FROM THE FURNACE.

Because everything that breaks, you don't cover. It's in the fine print. We have a leaking shower which is covered because we have a leaky pipes. But when the plumber gets out here, he says no it's your shower pan and we don't cover shower pans. But if the shower pan is what's causing the leak, I think your details are just wrong.

Customer service is horrible! They transfer you all over the place and no one can resolve your issue.

Call centers in the Philippines are awful. It should be called Filipino Homes Shield, not American Home Shield - because all the ignorant foreigners answering the phone or idiots. Also, many of their contractors are substandard they don't fix it right the first time and they take over a week or more to show up for an appointment. When you have a washer, dryer or refrigerator not working this is unacceptable. I had to end up going out and buying new appliances because of the substandard service!

I spent 35 minutes on hold so I could speak to a custome service rep. I finally got through and got nothing resolved. While waiting for an answer as to why my bill went up by 22% last month, I was instead sent to a feedback on my call. Nothing has been answered. If I don't hear back from you I will cancel my contract and leave negative reviews on the internt.
