I am 71 years old. I opened my garage door the other day and the motor was smoking. I couldn’t get up to unplug it. I panicked and called a company that had done annual service for me. They were here within 5 minutes. It turns out that the motor burned out. I needed a new one. They fixed it for me. I have been trying to reach a supervisor now for a few days regarding a couple service issues and to no avail. I still have a stovetop that has been out of service since November 30th. And to-date that service has not been resolved. After several attempts, on my end, to have the repair complete prior to the holiday - THAT HAS NOT BEEN DONE. I have not received prompt service on my repair, or customer service support.

The AC unit has been repaired twice and stopped working again because AHS won't authorize replacement of the full unit.

AHS is a huge ripoff. I would caution anyone that is looking due a home warranty company to not use American Home Sheild. I have been with them for over 7 yesrs with relatively few claims. However, I now need them to replace my ac and they are giving me the run around. I have been without ac for over a month and a half. Presently, I have had to get a lawyer involved to assist me in getting my ac replaced by AHS . This is a very bad company.

Some of the vendors make repairs & just don't know what they are doing. They make assumptions based on the environment or their opinion. Not thorough at all I had a broke refrigerator instead of checking the entire refrigerator. The technician saw one thing wrong and ordered that part but that wasn't all that was wrong with the refrigerator so when the part got put in and replaced, the refrigerator still was not working so I had to wait another week so they can order a part. They sent a service person to take care of the issue. He could not fix it. They still charged me $100 for him having come out. I still have a problem.
