Service technician said my gas heater was out dated and needed to be replaced and then because I found out the problem the controller board was burned up and fan in the furnace was rusted to peaces I don't think it was right not to fix my furnace

There are a few times that American Home Shield met their commitment. Most of those happened many years ago. They will rarely fix things that they will take a loss on. By the time you pay your deductible and add a months payment, you will probably break even. The people they contract know exactly how much home shield will pay, so they charge exactly that. Have 2 homes with AHS and have been with AHS for 28 years. Over the past 5-7 years the vendors have gotten worse. It's impossible to reach management or supervisor, even sent and letter to headquarters and it was returned. Last October, it took AHS 7 weeks to decide to replace my my dryer. The process was too painful dealing with the back and forth between multiple vendors and AHS.

Wrongful denial of legitimate claim re plumbing leak. Leak 13 inches above slab absurdly called "slab leak" to evade payment. Failure to attempt diagnosis of possible defective thermostat in freezing-up refrigerator freezer.

They did a poor job of dealing with my need to replace my water heater on a Friday when their vendor wasn’t available until Monday. We are seniors with kids in the house and having no hot water during the winter when night temps were hitting 32 degrees wasn’t an option. I used a licensed plumber and had the bills for AHS to review and they refused. I am a public adjuster working in prop claims over 40years and I find this type of customer service appalling.

Just had issues with stove and oven. Easy to start claim on line. The repair company was very professional and knowledgeable. Awhile back had plumbing issue with toilet. plumber was terrible. And did not resolve issue
