Don't waste your time and money! That’s what I’m telling everyone I know concerning American Home Shield! What little good we received through AHS was completely overshadowed by how they handled our last service request. Our HVAC system wasn't cooling like it should so we put in a service request and also requested the contractor whom we are familiar with and know that the work will be done professionally and to the highest standard. My latest request to fix my stovetop took two weeks to even decide to order parts. And now parts are 6-8 weeks out. Very frustrating to be without a stovetop for months.

Ive been a customer for over 10 years and have been satisfied with the service until this year. The wait time to speak to someone regarding existing orders is at least an hour, EVERYTIME you call. The representatives from the Phillipines etc are cordial but do not help me. They listen patiently, say they will check the problem and return my call. 1. On hold for obscene amount of time i.e 3 hours, not once, but three different times. This is with an open claim. Interestingly enough, I spend no time on hold when ordering a new policy. We have several rentals & our own home with them over the years. We have been cancelling each property's coverage. 2. Sub-standard contractors are used about 70% of the time in our experience. 3. Service delays to a rural town are frustrating - but eventually done well. Also, cost increases are troubling making one almost root for an appliance failure to break even!

Do yourself a favor and never go with this company. Their customer service is terrible. They forward you to the wrong departments all the time and no one ever gives you a call back. I've been on the phone for 2+ hours now waiting to be "transferred" to a department that probably doesn't even exist. They claim to have sent me an email with regards to my cash out option 4 days ago and I haven't received shit.
