Saturday, October 10, 2020, my hotwater tank started leaking water. I called American Home Shield to submit a service request. I was referred to a local contractor nd was told they couldn't service me until October 28th. That was unacceptable so I called American Home Shield back and was told they would reach out to another contractor. By far, the worst company on the planet. Do not allow a seller to purchase this warranty for you. We have had a sewage backup for over a week now. 5 days later and 3 phone calls to them, they promised every time to get back in 24-48 hrs, to no avail. This past 3 days, we have called every day. They promised "expedited service" and would call back within 4 hrs. That never happened. We had the same thing happen at our other home, same company. It took them four weeks to replace my refigerator in September 2019. My HVAC went out in December 2019 and I had to pay for that myself. It took them 6 weeks to replace my microwave, took them 11 weeks to fix my stove.
Some of the vendors are not timely or professional
Service has been fine, but I can't get them to send a copy of Interior Plumbing and Drainage System policy. I've requested it 3 times, on the phone and online.
Lack of communication between company meaning has contractor can cancel and no one's let's the counter know

Complete crooks. I signed up for them and paid my $100 a month for a year or so. Only used them once. Our electical box went out so I called them to come replace it. It wasnt cheap ($3000) to fix but under the contract they are supposed to cover all electrical. They immediately denied it and said there was no structural damage. That is completely not true as it shorted out all the time, the wires and breakers were damaged, and it had become a fire hazard.
