I want to give them 0 star, after making one service call, and receiving no service, ending up canceling with them after several stressful call to dishonest and misleading customer service. This company has one good thing, you can CANCEL ANY TIME and if I have to buy a home warranty again, it will never be American Home Shield

They replaced my water heater with an inferior product. Now they won't communicate with me or rectify the situation. Only offshore call centers handling calls, so frustrating!! We can't even wash a dish and take shower without running completely out of hot water. I'm so disappointed. Plus their vendor/installer took me for an additional $660. Obviously AHS has no urgency in making sure repairs are done as soon as possible. It took two weeks to get my refrigerator repaired. What do you expect people to do without a refrigerator. It took three contractors to get the correct one. Had Sears been given the contract from AHS immediately, we would not have had to endure two weeks without readily accessible food. Very disappointed.
Difficult to reach by phone, contractors read orders as narrowly as possible to nickel and dime copays, calls routinely disconnect and AHS will not call back. Contractors will leave a job half finished and leave if they feel the AHS order was not specific enough.

They get contractors for your problem out BUT I dont think they do well with following up with that contractor regarding the degree of satisfaction between the homeowner and the contractor. I also think some of the wording in the fine print of the ahs agreement needs to be worded differently, it's misleading. I've lived in my house 12yrs I've had AHS coverage since day 1. They are a huge pain in the rear end. If You ever actually need a replacement for some thing it takes months and months and months for them to replace things. They fired and do everything they can to not do right by the customers.

Our most recent experience with AHS has been an unmitigated disaster. We originally reported a problem with our AC not cooling on 16 May. A technician responded promptly and serviced with Freon but did no further investigation. The AC again failed to perform at the next hot spell and we reported it on 25 May. The technician responded on 26 May and determined the air handler needed to be replaced. This is where things get squirrly.
