I have had terrible service. Going on three weeks & still haven’t got the information I need.

I used to like the service years ago. Now it takes months to get something repaired even when it is clearly covered by the contract. I can't recommend the company to anyone until something changes and the service improves again.

I have used AMERICAN SHIELD two times after buying a townhouse. My rating depends on individual technicians that come to assess the problem. The first technician repaired the refrigerator no problem. The second technician was called for a garbage disposal. The blades were making a horrific noise and he saw some white paint on the black rubber insert and immediately said that there was paint in the garbage disposal that was keeping it from working and wasn’t covered. As a first time client with AHS, there is nothing worthy to rave about on my experience on work service. I'm already looking into other warranty companies that can fill in that gap. AHS needs to focus on their contractors within in-network. AHS tend to hire ANY CONTRACTORS within their companies budget - which leads to unsatisfactory customers feedback. We got this insurance to protect us. We have had a painful experience with 2 services we needed fixed. Our ice maker is one. This would be the third time that someone is coming out to hopefully fix this. The second is our A/C unit. Our unit is almost 20 years old and we finally received the information that it would be over 2K out of pocket to fix this. When I asked about a new unit that the tech suggested the AHS rep told me I have to wait another 6 days for cash/lieu to call me back. I’m thinking these people are scammers,... read more

Whirlpool Gas stove went out on 11/3. AHS assigned Sears repair to do the work. Sears Tech said we needed a new wiring harness, igniters, and gas valve. The tech is who broke the valve on purpose while I watched. 2 igniters and the gas valve came to me. The wiring harness was never ordered. The third igniter is on back order until the end of December. Sear will not install the parts they sent until the third igniter arrives. I waived the need to install the 3rd igniter based on what Sears and AHS told me I could do. All agre... read more

Pro appliance was assigned as my appliance repair for my dryer... Pro Appliance insists on virtual diagnostics. Hate that. They guess at the repair needed which took a couple days. Then they order a part which takes 8-10 days. They’re supposed to come out with the part tomorrow. I’m expecting their diagnosis to be wrong and they’ll need to order additional parts taking more days. Crappy way to diagnose and repair which puts the customers out of service way too long.
