Horrible company. They make up reasons to deny claims. They interpret their service people's reports to their benefit. They denied my claim stating it was not normal wear and tear. It was for a pool heater. How exactly does not "abuse" or "misuse" a pool heater??? You can't...unless of course your purposely damage it. They are a by scam.

This is a rip off. I had to pay way out of pocket of $100 service fee and $610 on what AHS didn't pay. AHS paid $50 and I had to pay $710 and that’s not even counting my monthly service fees. And it took over a week to get my ac unit fixed with the contractors they use. It was a waste. Oh and by the way, the part was free bc it was still under warranty. Insane.

I have been going through American Home Shield to get my heat pump fixed. Its has now been three weeks. First they ordered the wrong compressor and now its been over a week and still nothing has been ordered and told the parts are still probably three more weeks out and thats when they get around to ordering the. The worst company I ever dealt with!! I purchased the highest coverage they have and yet they refused to cover a worn out boot seal for my washing machine.

No sure that I like AHS now that I need to utilize the service for replacement. I am a real estate agent and refer a lot of people to AHS but have never had to deal with a replacement issue. The call center is not helpful and very difficult to understand. My washer was approved for replacement. I have not been able to get in touch with the replacement department. The first two issues we had with our brand new home, they do not cover. We called about an electrical issue, paid the $75 service fee, and scheduled an electrician. Electrician came out, was very knowledgable, but said it most likely wouldn't be covered. And no, it was not covered. So now, an issue that might have cost us originally $170-$200 to fix on our own will now end up costing us that plus the $75. Very frustrating, very unhelpful, very disappointed. Do not buy with this company.

Do not waste your money on a home warranty from American Home Shield. I repeat, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I gave this company at least 3 tries to show me that they stand by their promises to provide valuable service. They failed each and every time, this most recent time being the nail in their coffin.
