The worst company I've ever dealt with. They do not cover anything. They said they cover water heater, a big NOPE. Had to pay $800. They said they cover rekey, not accurate as the company that came out to rekey charged an additional $90 on top of the $75 service call fee, which if I knew in the beginning, I would rekeyed myself. Additionally, the company does call back with follow-ups to any disputes or concerns. American home shield sent A &R Complete Service out to repair my air-conditioning unit when it failed a few weeks ago. The first time they came out I was advised a circuit breaker had popped and everything is fine. Within eight hours the unit had failed again. I call this company a LEGAL SCAM. I even fail to understand how they are allowed to remain in business. My A/C has not been working for more than a month now. This unit is 16 years old. The compressor is blown and the coils are leaking. I have put Freon in this unit a couple of times (Everyone must know that they don't pay for freon). I have a samsung refrigerator ahs has sent contractors out 4 times . When contractor was diagnosing fridge with Samsung engineer on phone I ask to talk with Samsung. And told them to come out with there technician he got me a onetime exstension in warranty for diagnostic and proposed repair , long story short I would of saved 400$ if I had a properly trained technician that American home shield provide d,I’m for people making money but I think there needs to be a line drawn between right and wrong AND THE REPLY from AHS on w... read more

Microwave stopped. Filed claim with AHS 5 wks ago. Repairman came out - said he needed parts. Ordered parts and then returned when they arrived. Repairman said wrong parts were sent and ordered new parts. Second set of parts came so I called AHS to finish repair--first date available 10 days later. HORRIBLE experience!! We paid $58 per month for 4.5 years and only used the service once to replace a burner on our stove and it was a nightmare. We just had an a/c issue. The contractor they chose couldn't come for 3 days. We spent over $350 for a hotel during that time. When they finally showed up they said the motor on the outside unit was bad. I have been dealing with AHS for 2 weeks now in an attempt to get my air conditioner back online and have been given little assistance from AHS. I initially had an AHS approved technician come out and was charged a fee as outlined in the contract. I should note that the company I selected was not the default company due to terrible reviews and personal experience with that default company.
