What a disappointment! Our claim was denied as a "pre existing" condition and therefore, not covered. The representative had a strong accent and was difficult to understand. Crazy excuses were given to me in addition to the pre-existing excuses... Years ago this company was so much better ~ now it is completely horrible.

I had a complete home warranty with AHS. My AC went out and I called AHS. It took them two and a half days to come out. They had a complete scam artist of a guy come out. He changed the run compassitor, and the system came back on. That SHOULD have been it. Turn the AC down and boom, its all over. But no, he went up in the attic and started messing around with the unit. I had AHS for about 5 years - barely used them. Whenever I did use them, they send out companies that are truly awful - the reviews of these coman ies on line match what I experienced. You pay $134 for a service fee when it would cost not that much more to get it fixed with a more reliable company. You pay over $50 a month. Better off putting that money aside. We had a water heater failure and American home shield won’t cover the necessary accompanying parts needed for the replacement, basic items like code required earthquake bands! They will only cover the actual unit ( about $400.) and nothing else leaving the consumer covering 75% of the costs of replacement. We have to pay over $1,200 even though we supposedly have this coverage for full replacement. Rip off.

We have this home warranty through the recent home purchase. However I wish we bought another warranty. One month ago, our washer stopped working on a Friday, but was told the earliest available service was on next Monday; then we asked fix the door bell and a wobbling ceiling fan. The service guy came next day, he damaged the door bell and reported it never worked; he also falsely reported that the ceiling fan was too high to reach and two screws were missing, therefore AHS denied our request.

My refrigerator stop cooling and then we call and they set up a appointment and no one show up, So we call both companies to see what happens, Knowbody could tell us why know one show up. it took a week for someone to come out, then they told us it would take another week to get the part. Too expensive and you keeping increasing your fees and you keep reducing your coverage. It becomes more and more obvious that you have changed the business model that first made you popular.

This warranty covers everything except things that break. They take no responsibility for anything. I got it as a result of a purchase of our new home and would never recommend it to anyone. Get a good list of contractors and save the money you spend for home repairs. AHS is not a good company. Rep was rude on the phone.
